New York Rangers come out with an A-grade selection in the 1st round of the 2024 NHL draft taking EJ Emery with the 30th overall pick. He is a very talented defensive defensemen who is an extremely good athlete and skater. EJ has a high upside and could possibly be a true top 4 caliber defensemen in the NHL one day for the Rangers.

Great skating D who can actually play defense. Perfect! Playing great D in the D-zone is what wins Cups, especially with a goalie like Igor.

Pick 30 truly a coin flip but sometimes you find gems and when you do alot of times it is defense so a good pick for the position 30.

Not bad value and with his upside he very well could be but you never truly know for a couple years at least

lacks upper body girth with resultant limited potential to add sigficant upper body strength. reminds me of james patrick , also a nd graduatevwho had good agility but his lack of upper body strength limited his impact in the nhl

He has top 4 potential. I don't think that he has star potential. If bekommst a top 4 defender for our Rangers i'm happy.

I'd say he's got high upside with his defensive ability, passing, and overall athleticism which is truly elite

Solid pick. Rangers need all the defensive help they can get at this point. Strong skater and plays more of a defensive game, then offensive. Kid isn't going to score or put up a ton of points but I'm fine with that. Plus he's 6"3 Rangers really needed more size on defense.
