Procession is in my top 10 of New Order favorite songs. I love this demo. Usually I just yawn with a demo but the box set shows the band's fast growth.

The Cries and Whispers demo was fantastic. Only New Order can give listeners the chance to hear their favourite songs for the first time, AGAIN.

I love procession, one of my top NO faves... This demo is so crisp, love Bernards voice and the guitars and bass

I'm pretty sure that some of the tracks that ended up on record were from these cargo sessions with some parts redone (vocals, some guitars) and then mixed properly by Hannett. I'm fairly certain the drums on Procession 7" are from the Cargo session as there is a small mistake in the beat about halfway through which can be heard on both.

underrated song; Maybe because it was not originally released as a part of Movement. It was released as a single with the b-side being "everything's gone green" which is something that many of New Order's great songs suffered from. They released their best music as singles. Fun fact: There were 9 different colors for the sleeve for the Procession single because everyone had a favorite color, so they used em all and thus, a different color was released for each country.

Jim Ettridge true but only on the hard to find at the time factory Benelux 12” import. The 7” that charted was EGG/Procession. In 15 different colour versions...

Wow this version is so much worse than the original single. Way more muddied and the drums are buried... the guitar hooks are hidden. :(

These demos are are a wonderful chance to hear clear recordings of how the band performed live. Movement is my favourite album but I think it was pruned of its highs and lows, I will still love it until my dying day . RIP Martin,Tony,Rob
