Another hint, that we haven't seen everything that happened in this situation, and only one twins (Oshas) perspective, is the episode title: while the first two have double titles (Lost/Found and Revenge/Justice), this one only has one, Destiny.

We don't know the context for any of the things that are happening, so to call any of this bad writing when it's drip feeding the story intentionally to maintain the mystery is just strange.

doesn’t make much sense to me that the Jedi Order wanted to recruit these kids that are already 8-9 years old. when it’s been pretty well established that that’s way to old to begin jedi training. only reason anakin was an exception was because of Qui Gons dying wish

Unless they somehow "knew" that something was amiss on Brendoc and wanted to either save or split-up the twins. That would be a workable theory even if it ends up that one of the 4 Jedi there was a Sith agent.

My guess is that this is a trait of the high republic era. They were hoity-toity extremely arrogant, and this likely led to someone like Sidious taking advantage of their failures to create the era that will become the clone wars.

I'm not sure if I want to consider them for that. At this point, it doesn't seem like the story matters much. It's kind of spitting on the entire lore surrounding Anakin. Why would it be significant at all that the Force sovereignly created Anakin, if that could be easily done by a group of witches not powerful enough to stop 3 Jedi and 1 Padawan?

When Osha woke up in the ship near the end of the episode and asked what happened that felt out of place to me. She should have known what happened. I think the Jedi there wiped her memories or blocked some in a manner. She doesn't know what happened that night, only what the Jedi told her for some reason. I think this is because what happens is the following: - The jedi get controlled and begin attacking the coven, killing them. The jedi are the ones that destroyed the place. - Osha is going to find out from Mae or through the story that it was the jedi that killed her coven and thats going to be like her "low hero point of doubt"

Hmm. Maybe, but it's pretty standard as a trauma response. Ideally, one of the Jedi would have addressed that out loud (for the sake of the audience), so it was a bit abrupt in-scene, but as a response, that's totally believable. You could also be right.

It's actually just something that the Barash Vow does, in a way. Every single Jedi that has done the vow had an impenetrable shield surrounding them.

@@king_canisI suspect that the reason they have an impenetrable shield is because they are forcing the Force outside of their body while they quasi-cut themselves off once they are surrounded or locked in that force field. If you’re punishing yourself, the last thing you’d want is to access to the force as you’re purging your emotions and doing your penitence.

In the Star Wars universe there are around 100 different ways to refer to the force. You just know how the Jedi/Sith call it, and they're an Order, not even a religion; they share the religion! But we've seen in Dathomir they call it Magick, and do you know about the Bendu? Ashla? There are even multiple galaxies in Star Wars, there are different names for the same thing, as there are languages and religions in real life. It's not contradicting anything that wasn't established before. There are even Ewok Shamans in Ep. VI. 🤷

I was thinking that. That he didn’t even freak out that Osha was Mae’s twin. Mae was under the impression that Osha was dead(?). And he seamed to totally understand the guilt and regret Torven was under to voluntarily kill himself in absolution. That’s a little next level for your average weapons-caddy.

I believe that the Sith Lord was there also. Got pissed because he wasn’t getting what he wanted (the two girls) and started to lay waste to everything and everyone, killed some of the coven because they are useless if he didn’t get what he wanted and maybe punishment for not grooming the children the right way. The Jedi tried to save everyone but failed and that’s why they feel bad.

Pablo hildalgo shared concept art from Episode 3 of Darth Pleagus as a nimodian by Iain McCaig dated 11-5-2002. he was only. Muun in legends. It was supposedly how palpatine had connections with the nimodians in the prequels. They were also in ep1 of Acolyte

I think they are a branch of witches like from Morgan Elspeth's story, where there was the mountain tribe etc., they all use the force differently and we don't know how many tribes there are in total. Plus, they used a Zabrak for the creation of the girls... similar methods that feel like they separated from the coven that became Nightsisters, similar to when Christianity went west it focused on the power of the voice, and when Christianity went east it focused on the power of written word.

The one thing I disagree with in this episode is the subtitle "laughs maniacally." There doesn't seem to be anything maniacal at all. It just seems like a ceremonial cry that's super common in indigenous rituals and prayers.

There is definitely someone else in play on the planet. Something I haven't seen anyone talk about was the moment around 11 min in when Mother Aniseya and Mother Koril hear a noise at the end of the training. Koril goes and looks around the area with the big mechanism that explodes later. Someone was there.

I think the Jedi Showed up because Sol could sense Osha was in danger. Koril probably mind controlled Mae to attack Osha, then did the same thing to the padawan to force him to attack the other jedi, which resulted in his scar. This caused things to escalate resulting in the Jedi wiping them out.

I don't think Torbin would have been so torn up by guilt if he'd been mind-controlled to do something. More likely the Jedi wiped out the witches, and that never sat right with him (or something like that)

I actually like that idea, that the witches made a deal with the “devil” for their protection, or for children. So then when the Mother said that Osha could leave with the Jedi, the “devil” destroyed the coven in retaliation for breaking their deal.

5 more episodes left to flesh out the truth. Something really shady happened to those witches. Why were the Jedi out in the frontier on an "uninhabited" planet? And knew who they were without asking any questions? So happy to have anything outside of the Skywalker saga. A lot of new lore has been added with the High Republic era. The books and comics have been great. Nice to see them in live-action.

Thank you!! I keep hearing every YT blogger call spice a drug and I’m like that’s not true at all 😂 Spice by itself is an ingredient. It’s like calling the poppy plant a drug because we can make opium out of it or the coca plant a drug just because cocajne is made from it. There are other uses for coca/poppy plants Also, a spice cream doesn’t mean there aren’t any other spices and seasonings in the entire galaxy

Now, I'm all for the way they do the lightsaber props nowadays; it's probably my favorite part about Disney Star Wars. However, they don't necessarily have to be so bulky to fit the battery. A club at my college makes lightsabers and we can get them as thin as 1.25 inches in diameter and the ones in this show look closer to two inches in diameter

The title and position of Ensign goes WAY back before it was ever used in any navy. Also, its not just the US Navy that uses it. It goes back to being the standard (ensgin) bearer for your Lord in battle, and was an Army rank

"Allah" isn't the Muslim's version of God. It just means "God" in Arabic. Christians who speak Arabic say "Allah" when referring to God as well. It's not two different interpretations of a being, just two different languages saying the same word.

That's true, but the fact remains that the Muslim idea of God is different from the Christian one, which in turn differs from the Jewish concept. They all use similar words (they are all a monotheistic God with essentially no name), but even English-speaking Muslims still generally say Allah. In that context, what he says is reasonable.

Lah is the Arabic word for a god, 'al' is the definitive article 'the'. Allah is 'the God' , whereas a god would be just 'lah'.

The Witches have all their dead sisters souls that flew in for the Accession Ritual and this might be why we can see the temperature change going on around the Jedi as Mother Anasaya prepares to possess Torbin. Often during rituals dealing with the dead, you can smell perfume, alcohol, tobacco, or any earthly scent associated with their life and the temperature will drop to around freezing, so you’ll be able to feel the change and see your breath.
