Bryan Kohberger's phone was shut off before the murder occurred, and turned back on when he got home. I don't understand how having a Bluetooth device in the bedroom would help prove anything, unless it was connected to Alexa (or something similar), and if Alexa would have a recording of any sound/voice that occurred in her bedroom. I think the reporter is confused as to what the expert said.

As they said they know where the car was so if there is record of his phone connecting to the car in and around that time, that is evidence that he was driving it. also Bluetooth still works in airplane mode so it's possible that he didn't turn the phone off completely and because bluetooth has a very limited range indoors, you have to be within 40-50 feet.. that could place him at their front door if any bluetooth speakers were at ground level and inside the house if they were in the bedrooms. I mean we're talking about a guy who drove his own car to commit a quadruple homicide, didn't wear a proper face covering and left his knife sheath at the scene of the crime so what are the chances he didn't turn his phone off completely?

@@Mark-rw3kw how do you know that? There is no way to tell if a phone was completely shut off or in airplane mode unless you have access to the phone itself. You have to realize a lot of this stuff is playing telephone between people who don't understand what they're talking about. Maybe at some point he did attempt to access their wifi. But it's doubtful. It's more likely their wifi showed up as one his phone has seen before -- phones do this as a way to supplement GPS. As for the bluetooth, this is so absurd because there is no way he was sitting in their room pairing his phone to a bluetooth speaker after killing 2 people. These people are just desperate for clicks.

There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding of how Bluetooth technology works here... it's not like a cellular connection that's constantly connecting your phone to the nearest cell tower without your knowledge. It must be activated in both devices you're looking to pair, and you need to proactively pair the devices the first time. Most small Bluetooth speakers can only cope with one device connection at a time, so assuming Kaylee's phone was already paired to the speaker then it won't be trying to pair with random phones. Also, Bluetooth is easily toggled on/off on any phone & people will turn it off when not in use to save battery. It's not going to give the type of hidden tracking data that's being suggested.

Unless she had an Alexa in her room, just a bluetooth speaker isn't going to provide any evidence. It's not going to like record the audio of what happened in the room. Bluetooth is turned off when you turn on airplane mode his phone would not have connected or tried to connect to anything at the house his phone isn't very useful in the case because they don't have GPS pings which would have shown exactly how close he was to the crime scene but they do have carrier pings that they can see he was within 10 miles of the house which isn't good enough as for evidence but that won't matter because they have concrete evidence that will convict him without a doubt they won't be releasing those details until trial

So if 1122 had a Bluetooth beacon this could be very credible. Beacon technology uses Bluetooth Smart, an ultra low power version of Bluetooth, which works over a range of a few metres to tens of metres. Beacons continuously transmit a packet of data so that when a smartphone passes by, it receives and decodes the packet, which contains the Beacon's ID number.

He might still have a hard time explaining his presence 30 ft from the bedroom. But if his phone was completely turned off, there would be no digital evidence. Moral of the story and this is NOT to people who endeavor to do the right thing as a rule, rather those who stand for nothing and fall for anything: Get used to the idea of being watched and do the right thing whether you are watched or not. And that doesn't mean taking numerous careless steps and changing your mind at the last minute. It means controlling your mind every day. Don't think about revenge. Don't imagine what it would be like to attack someone. Don't let the rejection of others define you. Do a check up from the neck up and ask yourself why people don't want you around. It's painful but we all have to treat feedback as a friend. The thing is, there will be always someone in life to kick you. Decide what direction you want to go and make it a good trip FOR EVERYONE.

There is all this talk about how can it be possible for Dylan to not hear the attack or screaming but yet nobody mentions that apparently Ethan and Xana didn't hear much either before they were attacked.
