I love to hear that siren at the beginning of the video it reminds me when my dad was volunteer firefighter back in 60s and see him running out of the door every time the siren went off in the city i miss those times i really do.

About 35 years ago a car caught on fire in the street in front of my house, and I was amazed by the huge amount of smoke just one burning vehicle will produce. Unlike all the onlookers (including me) who were thinking it might explode like in the movies, the firefighters walked up very calmly and put it out with just the water from their truck.

Extremely refreshing to see the firefighters jumping off the truck not only masked up, but on air ready to work. Too many times you see guys jumping off a rig at a confirmed working fire, and they don't have their mask on yet. Well done by this crew!

I like the full gear on with the approach. Toxic smoke is there, possible flying glass is there... protect yourself.

That's something you don't often see enough. Officer on nozzle. Quick stretch of line and great knock down well done. Everyone all masked up in full gear . Dept has good leadership and obviously train alot

It’s great to see a prepared department. When both firefighters got of the truck, they were already with ALL their PPE on and were just waiting on the booster line to charge. It was many years ago but had a battery explode on me but I was in full PPE it didn’t phase me. There are quite a few car fires here on KZfaq and the firefighters are not wearing their their mask. Inhaling carcinogens and taking too many risk. When that battery blew up on me, I felt all the stuff that hit my mask and if I wouldn’t have been wearing it, I might be blind today? Kudos to this department for their safety practices! Great job!

I would recommend using a fog Semi / fog pattern when fighting any type of Vehicle fire . It covers a lot more surface area and it also helps with water consumption. You could have had that fire out in half the time using half the water . Either way good job gentlemen. Stay safe out there

Job well done. I do dislike it when Officers hog the nozzle, these types of fires are perfect opportunities to train FFs and to let them get some nozzle time. As a Captain, I am usually the first one dressed and ready to go (years of experience and I practice a lot) on the nozzle, however I hand it off at the first opportunity so I can run the scene. On a suppression crew my position is the last person, so i can keep an eye on my crew and the scene.

What is it with firefighters not wearing the waist strap on their SCBA? It's there for a reason, and I've experienced it, it really puts some stress on your back, and it's not fun, nor safe.

I wish the video was a couple of minutes longer, so I could watch the Police Officer, put a bright orange abandoned vehicle sticker on the Chevy.

I was surprised that the driver door opened so easy I figured with the heat it would have melted all the stupid plastic clips that hold all the door linkage in place

Great action. It was like a training film. Properly equipped. Hose deployed as soon as they arrived.

The back up guy needs to finish putting his pack on, oops he's not the only one, training issue.

They had a nice quick attack on that fire solid work Coplay PA fire department.

Everything here looked to the book. The only thing I would change is the stream. Use a narrow fog instead of a straight stream.

The car was mad---it hissed at the firefighter. The fire felt put out. The car is hosed. The firefighter's efforts are watered down. The car was totally steamed.

Nice work by the hoseman making the stretch and quick extinguishment. Not sure what the hold up was getting water.

Wow no body ever says what they did right. They parked up hill up wind. Checked their nozzle before spraying water on the fire. Got water quickly. Oh ya put the fire out with no injury. Take that all you know it alls.

Firefighters always blow off the first few seconds of water to make sure they weren’t handed a flamethrower.

Unless it was arson, which I doubt, the only thing I can think of that a parked vehicle would catch fire is bad wiring or a faulty electrical component.

Why did it look like he was washing the vehicle instead of trying to put the fire out?... I mean, hitting the outside of the doors like that...

We have a denali like this (06) but it's in baby blue color. The driver side coil pack caught on fire but the fire was stopped immediately luckily we had a pitcher full of water

in this video what were the firefighters waiting for . . . probably waiting for the fire to fully engulf the car which it did as shown in this video . . . initially the fire was confined only to the front of the vehicle, but it spread out (as expected) engulfing the entire car as the fire fighters wait on . . .

Mysterious fumes of gasoline, never found the leak, guess what can happen. mine turned out to be a leaking fuel regulator, see 40 PSI of gasoline from the tank pump hit that leaky seal and it prays gasoline all over the engine. Luckily before it gets that bad you will smell gas fumes. So if you do smell gas, it is very dangerous and you need to get it fixed. I did find my problem and the fuel regulator had failed internally, the regulator sits right up in the engine by the fuel rail.
