The final shot was beautiful. When it mentioned he donated the $10,000 to charity, whilst he laughed with his wife in their garden - that's the purest image of America; kind, hard working, and vulnerable.

The cycle of the internet: Find a regular person & make them unbelievably famous Look into their lives & find any flaws, then use that to attack them & bring them back down Move onto something else & leave them to deal with the aftermath
@spartan456
@spartan456 3 жыл бұрын
The complete 180 that happened with this man was one of the most absurd things I've ever seen. I didn't understand why everyone seemed to be so upset with him. Ken is willing to accept and acknowledge things that he has said in the past while in the face of scrutiny. Ken did not try to scurry under the rug and pretend that his weird posts on Reddit didn't exist. He didn't even try to hide the posts either, otherwise he would have done his AMAs with a throwaway. The fact that he was so ready and willing to back up the things that people dug up about him just made me like him a lot more. Ken Bone is truly based.
@PronkDaMonk
@PronkDaMonk 3 жыл бұрын
@@spartan456 I agree, he was just being himself & people got mad because he didnt fall into their idealized image of him. this stuff happens all the time where the internet elevates someone & turns them into an ideal figure but then they go through their lives & when they find something they dont like, its all of a sudden the person they made viral's fault. Similar thing happened with that little kid who was getting bullied & got invited to see avengers. People turned him into an icon and then found his parents were racist or something but they all started attacking the kid. He's a little kid, how is he responsible for what his parents do? These are just normal people, they didn't ask to go viral, but then for some reason they get attacked as if they plotted to get famous & spread some agenda

Ken is an excellent case study for the true 15 minutes of fame that happens so often these days. Any random video on the internet can go viral, any ordinary person can become a sensation, not based on very much at all, just hitting the zeitgeist at the right angle and shooting off into it. But it all ends the same way. I hope Ken is happy. He deserves to be happy if anything. And I'm glad his wife stuck with him through all this.
