There are some that can (due to their talent) do it the other way around. Sometimes they eve get really far. The problem is that they never got used to losing first so when they do lose they give up and vanish most of the time. If you come up through loses you are waaaay more likely there to stay since you're mentally a lot tougher.

As a Serb I'd like to point out something that I can't help but notice that a lot of Americans kind of miss about Nikola - we as a people have a very strong sense of being a part of the collective and it is a defining trait of most of our men - we define our success as a contribution to our collective. Wether it is our family, our company, our team, our nation, it is always WE that comes before I. It was funny to hear this comment about the crowd celebrating in the streets at 6am how many of them will "call in sick" 😂 no guys, we'll just text our bosses and colleagues "we're celebrating our boy Jokić winning the ring, we'll get things done a bit later today" because another important trait of our national collective is being straight forward.

he's the perfect role model, and should be the face of the league. The league and the media tried to hype up Ja and Zion to make them the face of the league and it backfired. Jokic is a family man, down to earth, not flamboyant in terms of fashion and demeanour, humorous and confident. He's what a professional athlete should be, straight business and no off court drama or political bs.

@@ass640 This particular season I feel he and the entire team whose been working towards this championship goal earned it. But in previous years he's been sighted in Sombor in the offseason just chilling out and doin his thing. Though Jokic has also taken the initiative to work on his game in the offseason and coming into the start of the season more conditioned than his younger years. In part because he bought into his potential and to achieve that, he needs to buy into that offseason process to prepare himself for the season.

Jokic and the Nuggets got me watching the NBA again. Im not even a Nuggets fan but I rooted for them from day one of the playoffs. I saw what the media was doing not just this year but for many years, they framed certain biased narratives and favored certain players. These guys helped expose the propaganda of the media pundits nd thats why I was on their side the whole way. Jokic and the Nuggets represent the new era of basketball. Teamwork, humility, defense, post up play, hard work, physical play, etc. The Nuggets got themselves a bunch of new fans and they made the NBA that much better. Keep rockin it steady.
