First episode really caught my attention but same as you, I didn't care about the characters at all and even though the story had potential, I just didn't care. As the series continued, it got worse and worse

I have never watched a show that fell off this fast & hard. Was cool at first but I checked out after they brought in the CGI mech suits

I wasn't able to find the charaters engaging either and didn't bother finishing the third episode. I wasn't sure if it was because it was lackluster or if it just suffered because Frieren, JJK, and Vindland Saga have recently really upped the bar as to what I expect. Now that I know it apperently gets worse I'm not likely to try it again.

The animation was genuinely excellent for the first few episodes and with just those episodes this show will definitely have had some of the best fights of the year. But like you said, with shows like Frieren and Jujutsu Kaisen that have really good animation but also great characters and story, Ninja Kamui really suffers in comparison. And then when it drops the ball with the CGI, there really is no reason to continue or even recommend it.

Story was keh, didnt care too much about it....I was here for the action.....and fcking cgi mech suits. Why?

The one thing that this show needed to deliver was action. And it looked like it was going to. And then they roll out one of the biggest downgrades in anime I've ever seen.

The cgi flip reminds me of 'Tiger and Bunny' except the ugly cgi suits are added basically at the beginning so you don't have much room for dissapointment. (Plus, it was the story and characters that carried Tiger and Bunny.) Cgi models after all these years is just so rough in most anime, its a big turn off for me. I hadn't heard of this show, but I can see that this would have been very dissapointing for me.

Animation wise, it starts so strong too which makes it so disppointing. And you're right about Tiger and Bunny. You know from the start that the CGI suits are going to be there throughout the series. And the characters, especially Tiger and Bunny, are fun. Plus, I love the twist at the end of the first season.
