Great content, so much easier doing the timing belt job with engine out of the chassis. Every time I’ve done it is with engine in car.

I did it in car one time and I absolutely do not want to again😅 the z is so low I stretch my knees/back out.

Hey quick question besides from my other comment when u take the belt off and them crank gears move how do I know if it’s still in time or not
@NedacSnosrap3 ай бұрын
If cam gears flop to one side, just correct it by using the dot/mark on the cam gear and the dot on the rear timing cover to get it back in its general area. Those markings are not meant to be exact tdc reference, but to help align your cams to a sitting/resting position to time it.

Glad I found this, Definitely one of the better guides i’ve found. I’m doing my NA Auto in about a week. Any tips since mine isn’t a manual?
@NedacSnosrap10 ай бұрын
Pulling engine or leaving in car? Only difference i can recall is the protol for removing the crank bolt. I always chalk 2 of my tires front and back when removing the crank pulley vs putting it in 5th and chalking 1. You also have oil cooler lines for the trans going to the lower part of the radiator. Other than that about everything is straight forward.
@trivial158210 ай бұрын
@@NedacSnosrap Me and my dad ended up figuring it out. We used a breaker bar on the crank bolt like normal but just wedged a bar to stop the pulley’s from turning.

Wat would happen if you spin ur crank without the belt on? Could I just go back to top dead center ?
@NedacSnosrapАй бұрын
As long as the cams are in a resting position and the valves are not open, yes. You'll just realign when going to time. Passenger side cams are the ones with valves open at tdc so just flop them over. Also put a long extension in cyl 1 plug hole to verify you're at TDC when you set it back up via the crank sprocket timing mark.

HOW YOU TAKE THAT FAN PULLEY OUT LIKE DAH?? NANI??
@mynameisdot93703 ай бұрын
I skipped that part my apologies my friend
@NedacSnosrap3 ай бұрын
No worries😎 Sometimes those fan clutches are seized on badly. Penetrant fluid and some hammer/mallet taps mixed with some prying will get it off everytime!
