Would be interesting if coaches were a part of the cap. I don’t support that but it would be interesting to see how they would be valued, in that circumstance.

Sullivan needs a change of scenery. All coaches have an expiration date with a team. His is long past due in Pittsburgh.

I would like to see Berube or Dineen. Funny thing about Dineen....he actually has a lake house in Queensbury, NY. My aunt and uncle have a house about 2 houses down from him. When he won the cup one year, he brought it up there, and my cousins had their picture taken with it. I was so jealous. lol

Berube would be my choice. I just hope that Fitz doesn’t give the job to Travis Green. In my opinion, I think the whole coaching staff needs to change.

Mike Sullivan might be the new head coach for the Devils. Mike coached the Penguins to back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2016 and 2017, so next season, he will lead the Devils to a 66-12-4 record and their 4th Stanley Cup.

Bring Pete Deboer back especially if the Stars get knocked out

I don’t hate Green and wouldn’t mind him coming back. Or if not Green I would like to see a tough French Canadian coach. Regardless upgrading the roster is the priority

Cup winning coaches don't win a cup with a 2nd team. Modern NHL, I think only Scotty Bowman has done it. I think that prerequisite needs to come off the list. I can't think of anyone else that's done it aside from Bowman.

Who do you think is a good realistic HC option for the Devils? Do you think Berube would be a good fit?

Sullivan is not my top choice but there are worse options out there. I’m kind of sick of all the Devils/Pens crap from the last decade, though.

Wall of text incoming. But I'd be shocked if that happened. But from your mouth to God's ears... as a Penguins fan. Sullivan might be the most stubborn, arrogant coach in Penguins history. I do appreciate the last two Cups. But cracks in his system were already showing during the 2017 Cup run. The Penguins got badly outplayed for most of the 2017 playoffs. Look up the article *_Penguins continue to buck shot trends in bizarre Stanley Cup Final run,_* by Evan Sporer, if you find the time. Murray, Crosby, Malkin, and Kessel bailed them out. Once Sullivan picks his favorites, that's it. There's no more accountability once he "finds his guys". There's almost nothing a veteran can do to go out of the lineup. And if a young player makes the exact same mistake as a veteran player, he's in the press box, and probably back in the AHL before long. People joked around here that Jeff Carter could've taken a full slapshot on his own goalie, every shift he had, and still wouldn't get benched. FSG owns the Penguins, and they're based in Boston. And from the instant that sale was made, multiple local sports outlets were reporting on how cozy Sullivan got with the new management. By all reports, FSG has a man-crush on Sullivan. To them he basically walks on water. He was regularly seen having dinner with John Henry and/or Tom Werner, who own FSG. (I forget the details of the reporting.) Some people speculate that Sullivan isn't even under Dubas's power to fire. Remember, Sullivan was extended by FSG themselves. The Penguins didn't even have a GM when that extension was signed. Mostly rumor and speculation. But it's still at least interesting. Like I said, though, the Penguins were fortunate to win the Cup in 2017. No one remembers how you win, when you win. But the Penguins struggled in the 2017 run. They won a single series in 2018, losing to the Capitals. And they haven't won squat since. I think Sullivan is extremely overrated. I'm not saying he couldn't possibly find success somewhere else again. But I think he bears a ton of blame for squandering the final years of the Crosby/Malkin era. I *can't wait* until Sullivan is finally gone... assuming he doesn't just coach the team until he drops dead.

Get a guy that doesn't mind being fired. One that works cheap. Jersey is a tough gig. You are expected to win with a banged up soft young team.
