Since some people are learning about Oakland for the first time, heres some history. Oakland University is located in the Metro Detroit town of Rochester Hills Michigan. Oakland opened in 1957 as Michigan State-Oakland. The school would be known as MSU Oakland until 1963 when it became its modern name Oakland University. The school became independent from MSU in 1970. In 1984 Oakland would hire Greg Kempe a assistant coach from Toledo and would remain there coach to this day.

@@UNSCconnor You are ABSOLUTELY correct. Kentucky has become the new Virginia. The problem is BBN has been bamboozled by this coach to think we're winning when we're losing. We keep drinking Cal's Kool-Aid. According to Coach Cal's narrative we're winning because: we get the most talented players and they play hard, etc, etc. And even tho we lost, we're getting better and learning and winning every game before March doesn't really matter as long as we get a decent seed so we can actually win in the NCAA Tournament. The result? Double-digit losing seasons, being unprepared, choking under pressure, and NEVER winning championships (or even getting angry -- look at the despondent instead of angry players after a loss) of ANY kind that we've seen play out now for a decade. How absurd is it to think we can win the NCAA when we finish 4th in our conference and can't win a game in the conference tournament, yet we do.

there is no standard for kentucky basketball anymore. you cannot defend cal on this one. IDC if a BENCH PLAYER shot 10 3s in a game-who has only 10 3s attempts before the game-you have 6 NBA players who lost to plumbers and engineers. they were checked out after the 1st half. Thanks for sharing how clueless you are. Kentucky’s been beaten by a lot of inferior teams this year. Most Kentucky fans want Coach Calipari ousted, but the buyout of his contract would cost the university $33 million. He’s a lousy coach, and no one likes him. He’s destroying Kentucky’s basketball legacy. So, beating Kentucky is really nothing to brag about. Once again, they were outcoached.

Cinderella was handed a perfect life through sheer luck and mistranslated shoes, while she may have deserved it thematically she didn't actually put in much work herself to improve her station. Team Gohlke and friends are saying they didn't luck out, they earned this victory though the strength of their own backs.

Mike Krzyzewski, Roy Williams, and other so called great coaches retired because they wanted to protect their wins and losses. They knew if they couldn't steal the best players in the country then it would show that they really couldn't coach average players, which meant that they couldn't coach at all. Look at coach John Calipari of Kentucky trying his best to coach ABOVE AVERAGE PLAYERS, and Oakland University kicking HIS AZZ. That was not an upset, but just the NCAA committee trying to create an upset. Hey Ray Charles saw that upset coming, and Ray Charles is dead. John Calipari will retire in the next 2 to 3 years. Houston Basketball is on deck for an "UPSET"! I told folks that "Great Coaches" would start retiring 3yrs ago, and its happening. Protect your legacy right!?
