No GA4 Configuration Tag?! New Google Tag in GTM

You cannot find your GA4 Configuration Tag? Now you should deploy a Google Tag instead. What is it about? We will have a look in this tutorial. There are also some excited changes here, such as 2 new variables available in GTM: Configuration settings variable & Event settings variable. They will allow us to reuse parameters at the configuration and event levels which is really helpful.

A quite interesting way to allow values reusability, so it's more efficient to set parameters through your custom events. Really useful.

Great tutorial! I was wondering, whether it is possible to do same kind of tracking of iFrames and forms and so forth, without using Google Tag Manager and just using GA 4 and alterations to code on both iFrame pages, our own and the one where iFrame takes us? If it is, how should one go about it? I'm thinking that since this requires rights to iFrame, too, this could maybe be achieved with code without going through GTM? GTM seems to me in this case unnecessary somehow, since access to code is required here, too. Could someone please enlighten me further on this topic?

I'm positive you could send event parameters in the old GA4 config variable and accomplish the same thing. This is certainly a new UI and gives the ability to store event parameters in their own variable I suppose but I don't feel too much has changed here really. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding any "new features" of this tag at this time.

I'm very grateful for your detailed informations. ga4 configuration tags which updated automatically to google tag by Google , By default contain send_page_view as event parameter which its value equal to true . and then use page view as trigger my question is : why you did not use this event parameter ? and why you use allow_ad_personalization_signals and allow_google_signals ? It is more important that you set their value equal to false ? Does this help to solve the thresholding error problem in ga4? Thank you if you answer me 😍

Thank you for watching! :) There are different page view triggers, and this article could be helpful: support.google.com/tagmanager/answer/7679319?hl=en Basically, Initialization - All Pages fires earlier than Page View and should be chosen when you want to fire tags before others.

I still don't get the point of the Google tag, why is it needed? Cant we just send page_view and other events with an event tag instead??
