I've seen, more than once, a married couple with children who they FINALLY, probably after a number of YEARS get an opportunity for a romantic evening out without the kids, and they pick a nice spot. Then the table next to them has screaming, crying kids, and there is nothing they can say or do. And THAT is bullshit! Adult only locations are NOT Anti-kid. They're just PRO adults. I support this 100%.

Yes. The problem is not the kids but the parents that dont know how to raise children properly. I remember once when I was young and my wife and I had a new born. We had been driving for several hours, it was late and we needed to stop to eat. We went into a small Chinese restaurant with our daughter sound asleep in a carrier. As the hostess led us to a table we passed by a couple and the man looked at us with disgust and said, not all that quietly, "Where's the baby sitter?" My wife and I just smirked because we knew our daughter. She never woke the whole time we were there and if she had she would not have cried or created a disturbance. We did not tolerate bad behaviour for attention in our children. We would often have people come to our table when eating out and compliment us on how well behaved our two kids were. I remember once eating out and there was a table next to us that had two adults and like a half dozen kids that all appeared to be fostered or adopted. They created such havoc and noise we nearly asked to move. When they finally left, their table was covered with trash and food and even broken glass. The busboy just stood and looked at it in amazement. And if you're curious, we did not use corporal punishment or any punishment for that matter. We talked to our kids. We explained to them why they should or shouldnt do things. If they became overly upset and uncontrollable we simple remove them from the environment. Start making a scene in the grocery store? We drop everything and simply go outside until you calm down. They learned quickly that acting that way would not get them what they want.

@@Lethgar_Smith This one 'All You Can Eat Buffet' I occasionally go to have kids running all over the place. Parents do nothing. They don't tell their children off. The parents just sit there eating their food and talking amongst themselves. Oblivious to what their children are doing. Other people go up to the parents and tell them to get control over their kids. Parents ignore. Staff say something to the parents. Still parents ignore. It isn't until a kid runs into someone causing them to drop their plate. One time it fell on the child. Parents were angry, but everyone there said this was their fault for not disciplining their children. If you're going to take your kids out for a meal go to McDonalds. At least they have a play pen instead of the entire restaurant being being their play pen.

The problem is that people do not discipline or teach their kids not to run around and not to be loud in a restaurant. Public places are not playgrounds. It's bad manners and does nor prepare your kids to be adults, but it teaches them to be self-centered and entitled. It's the parents fault not the restaurant.

@@winning3329 By discipline I do not mean hitting or any form of physical abuse. I meant teaching boundaries and manners; and appropriate "time-out" if needed. I realize I did not specify how I was using the term discipline, but it does not always mean hitting, etc. I am strongly against physical punishment. Parents need to talk, and reason with their kids. Also, it is completely unacceptable how parents allow their kids to act-out and there are developmental consequences. I am a BabyBoomer and grew-up in the suburbs in Calif. None of us kids acted-out like kids today because there were standards in society for behavior which is missing now. There was a time and place to play & restaurants, markets and office building are not playgrounds. I hope this clarifies what I meant. There are effective psychological therapies for your issues. Individual and group, although I don't know how COVID has impacted on availability.

@@winning3329 There's a difference between discipline and abuse. A little spanking won't hurt. What are you supposed to politely ask your kids to please quiet? The parent is the boss. Sit your ass down or we are going home. I don't hit kids but I do have firm voice. When my nephew fell on his face for running I told him go ahead do it again. Run. He said no. I said why not. Because it hurt. Parents coddle their kids over the age 3 and up. They need to learn.

It’s the same with airlines. The only parents who get upset when people complain are the ones with unruly kids. How when this is literally the only restaurant that’s not a strip club in the entire country to ever do this? Some restaurants ban kids at certain hours of the day, but this is the only place to outright ban them entirely. So we have no idea how this will turn out. I happen to disagree with you. I think the people like you who think this is cool will move on and forget about this in a week and the people who actually ate there won’t want to anymore because they can’t bring the whole family. For starters this is an ITALIAN place in New Jersey. I’m bettin a lot of Italians frequent the place. And Italians being mainly catholic have lots of children. Yeah I don’t see this going well for them. They probably had such a problem in the first place because families with kids were the main people who went there. The simple solution that would’ve made everyone happy would’ve been to simply ban the individual parents who don’t watch their kids. This is like banning all black people because you had a badly behaved customer who was black. It’s absurd.

Parents who let their children run around in restaurants are putting the servers and their children at risk of getting hurt badly. If people think about it in a sit down restaurant the servers are carrying heavy trays full of glass cups and mugs and plates and bowls of very hot food some restaurants even have plates that come out to the tables still sizzling. If someone’s child is running around and bumps into the server they and the child are at risk of being cut by glass and being burned badly by the food. It’s a lawsuit waiting to happen. There are plenty of kid friendly restaurants to take your kids to eat. Save the nice restaurants for date night

Perfectly fine. There are tons of places to go, some for the full family experience, and some for an adult experience. Some people want to dine without the extra noise. It would also be fine to make some places adults only, because I see teens in places all the time who apparently never learned how to behave at home.

There is nothing like spending money on a nice meal and conversation and you have to sit and listen to a bunch of kids running around and screaming. I rarely go out to eat anymore because there is no peace. I want to enjoy my meal I am paying for, not to listen to a bunch of brats. I think a lot of parents are inconsiderate. Their noisy kids may not bother them and they may think they are cute but others don't. If you can't teach your kids how to behave in a restaurant you should leave them at home.

I think there should be fines for the parents who let their children misbehave (kids throwing food on the floor, screaming for no reason, harassing other diners, running, etc.). If you see a child misbehaving, ask them who they are with and then add the fine on their parent`s restaurant bill.

Used to work at a restaurant and people would bring their kids and leave disgusting messes everywhere…noodles rubbed into seats, sauce everywhere, utensils left scattered across and under the tables…it would sometimes take a half hour to clean and sanitize properly for the next table. I’ve seen people allow their kids to run to other tables and start grabbing the flatware from Them and licking the salad plates…absolute demons. I get it.

I've been in the food and beverage industry for over 30 years in hotel restaurant . The one I work at now sometimes we have to tell the parents their kids cannot run around it is dangerous waiters walking with trays with Glass hot coffee etc, we have a buffet parents let their kids drop food make a mess grab food with their hand . Over the years it did not get better. Sometimes you tell the patents they get mad(for what??), I'm all for not kids in that restaurant. There is a fine line for kids . Sorry it is what it is especially if its a nice restaurant. Why parents get upset when you tell them it's a safety issue for everybody. Besides when they bring their kids it's like a tornado came thru. I wasn't raised that way.

I think that’s a great idea. Especially when children are not being supervised by their parents. If the parent can’t have their children behave leave them home with a babysitter.

Good for the Restaurant owners Grocery stores should do the same. They are not playgrounds! Hopefully, Ohio will have balls enough to start doing this. Parents are idiots raising monsters, these days. I nearly got hit the the face - brat hit my shoulder he was some big, huge 10 year old swinging a plastic kiddie shopping cart years, ago. Granny had her head up her arse I spoke to the manager - those kiddie carts were taken off of the floor -- I told them to check their cameras. $400 dollar pair of high Rx lenses. They were lucky he didn't hit my glasses.

I fully agree with this. This one 'All You Can Eat Buffet' I occasionally go to have kids running all over the place.
