A non-gamer watched the team trailers, and worked out from them the nature of the game without having had prior knowledge of it. Not bad at all. Yes, it is played with two teams, red and blue, killing the crap out of each-other in various types of match. A story I heard about the game: The voice actor for the Heavy apparently plays the game sometimes, and legend has it that he made the sound of the Heavy eating a sandvich (which makes him stand still while recovering lost health) in to the voice chat so that the opposing players would think he was vulnerable. Then he shot them.

There's something magic about seeing someone see these characters as "new", or at least, not having the same level of connection. I've been playing TF2 since May of 2013, and this is genuinely heartwarming to see, even if it's something so simple as seeing the old SFM's.

The fact that you went into this knowing absolutely nothing about TF2 and by the end of it you had a pretty decent idea of what it was like means the ad campaign was successful in what it was designed to do.

The reason why everyone dies all the time is because it's indeed online, and every person can be the same class. So in reality, there are thousands of each class running around. Also, the Medic and Pyro ones are so much more gruesome because they were released a lot later than the other ones. The other ones released at the same time as the game, while those two weren't released until years later. I'm pretty sure it wasn't even confirmed what gender the Pyro was for years, if it ever got confirmed to begin with. There were a lot of rumors floating around about Pyro being a female, back in the day.

First time watching a video of yours and three things. 1st: love the guns you're packing. 2nd: I enjoyed your reactions to the extreme and unusual things like the heads on the fence with Soldier and Medics lost licence. 3rd but my favourite: loved the tone of voice you used when you mimicked Medics 'later' in the Spy head in fridge scene.

I love the TF2 lore so much Its as deep as it is insane. This is litterally one of my personal fixations Here's my personal favourite facts: The soldier isnt a real soldier technically, he was denied entry to every branch of the military during WWII on the grounds of his blatant insanity. so naturally he stole a rocket launcher, stowed away to europe and started killing Nazis all over europe. In fact he didnt stop still 1949. The medic has surgically extracted the other 8 team members souls and implanted them into himself, which he uses later to outsmart the devil himself. The Demomans eyesocket is cursed which is why the medic wont heal it, every time he does the fresh eye becomes a giant, evil, bomb-lobbing eyeball monster. This happened becuase ( and Here's where it gets a little strange) the demo's eye was blasted out by magic when he tried to read the bombonimicon (evil explosives manuscript) which belonged to his at the time room mate, Merasmus the evil Wizard. This was beforr Merasmus moved in with Hollywood star Tom Jones

In TF2, science is a bit wonky to say the least. So bringing people back to life is all in a day's work.

I mean, at this point, watching Expiration Date is basically mandatory.

Back when I played I actually mained as the Spy, really fun. In the game he can go invisible (but can't attack you while invisible) and disguise himself as another character on either team. You can tell you have a enemy spy if you can't move through them, there's an 'invisible block' in an otherwise open path, you can hurt your team mate in most servers, or they're copying you. Savy players would keep an eye for suspicious activity and be sure to look behind themselves. I remember 1 game I accidentally ran into the person I was imitating and we both just paused and looked at eachother for a good 15 seconds till he decided that I must have been a glitch and left me. He was a new player. Then I backstabbed him, which is an instant kill.

Rarely do i visit these parts of YT. Nice video of you reacting to TF2 which is something of a totem community in the geekdom. Glad to have seen your reactions they were fun.

You should also react to the short film they made called “Expiration Date”, it was originally a pilot for their Adult Swim but some things happen and it was cancelled but they released it on KZfaq for free on their KZfaq Channel.

During the Meet the spy, if you noticed when "scout" cuts himself, he cuts himself on the _safety_ side of the butterfly knife, not even blue noticed.

Not sure if you read these but here are a few fun bits of canon trivia about each class Scout: Spy is his dad but he does not actually know. The rest of the team does know. In the comics this leads to a very heartfelt scene Solider: Was rejected from all the branches of the military during World War 2. He proceeded to go to Europe and go on a "Nazi killing spree" until 1949 Pyro: Nothing here. Except when we was CEO of an engineering company and was like a multi billionaire. Demoman: His body can produce it's own alcohol. Also his eye socket is haunted Heavy: He is not actually a communist. When the Russian Reveloution happened his father did not support it and his entire family was thrown into a gulag. He then escaped after a couple months and tortered all the guards to death. Engineer: Has 11 PHDs. Also cut off his own hand and replaced it with a sick looking robot hand. Medic: Stole a catering van full of doves from a prime minister's wedding. Sniper: The parents that he talks about in the trailer are not his biological parents, just his adopted parents. When he was an infant and was shot in a rocket out of a submerged New Zealand. Spy: Is Scout's father. That's it. Anyway that's all I can think off the top of my head but I think I can remember more if you ask nicely enough lol.

Bonus info: The classes shown in these videos are mercenaries. There was an ongoing fued between two brothers, Redmond and Blutarch Mann, about the land their father left them. One them hired mercenaries to take the land from his brother, so his brother did the exact same thing. Pretty sure they're just clones of each other, that's why the same guy can be on both the red and blue team, sometimes more than once. Scout is from Boston and is a big Tom Jones fan. Soldier was rejected from the army, so he bought a rocket launcher and a plane ticket and went to Europe on his own to go on a killing spree in Germany... several years after the war had ended. He was also roommates with a wizard and he is insane. Pyro's vision of reality is caused by the mask he wears, and can be seen in-game by equipping certain items. Demoman comes from a family of Scottish noblemen. He lost his eye when it got cursed by looking into a forbidden book (owned by the aforementioned wizard) called the Bombinomicon, which gave him vast knowledge of explosives. Heavy has a degree in Russian literature and fights to support his family back in Russia. He gives his miniguns names and loves sandviches. Engineer is from Texas and has 11 PhDs. His glove hides a mechanical hand. Medic is from Stuttgart, Germany. He lost his medical license after stealing a man's skeleton and frequently experiments on his patients. Also he literally outsmarted the devil to avoid going to hell. Sniper is from the lost country of New Zealand, which sank beneath the ocean, but was raised in Australia. He throws jars of piss at his enemies. Spy is French and is Scout's father. Scout doesn't know though, or at least he is massively in denial.

When you said "it doesn't appear that they're on the same team", I just want to give a bit of lore for this game. Two brothers were fighting over a (pretty much useless) spit of land. To get the land from the other brother each hired a team of nine mercenaries. The same nine mercenaries. I'm not sure if they're clones or if they're just identical people but on both sides there are 9 mercs who work together to fight a team made of another 9 mercs who happen to have the same abilities. The brothers were named Blutarch and Redmond which is partly why the teams are named RED and BLU.
