Thanks for the video I needed this I bought a g3 mono line as I don't get on with braid and it's so slick it likes to break free your knot has taken my anxieties away thanks

I needed this. perfect demonstration man. heard it works better for frog fishing (action wise) didn't know about using it for jerkbaits, etc. appreciate the video

Yes, it has been used a long time especially for jerkbaits. Crank baits too. I once read the reason for effectiveness at the pause the bait can more easily shimmy (slightly rock back and forth) creating a natural pause and realism. I hope this help as well. But I nver thought of using it for frogs, this I'll have to try, thanks.

This is my favorite knot and use it in almost all of my fishing need. Why? besides of being one of the strongest knot the fish has a tendency to hook itself, because of the foreplay of the hook in the loop. Thanks my friend for the remarkable presentation.

Hey Thanx man 👍 ive tried this knot a few times while out fishing and failed every time lol so i sat here with my line and lure and followed each step and got it perfect 1st time 😆 No doubt i'll fail again when im out 😟 i think the reason i failed is bc there are so many variations of the loop knot and using 4lb line makes it harder to set the knot but i just need to re tie the knot over n over until ive got it down without following instructions 😀 ✌👍💙🎣 from Scotland 🙋

@@FishingPOV Nice1 pal ive subbed so look forward to seeing your vids 👍💙🎣 About 2 weeks ago i was down my local urban river fishing for wild browns using Abu Garcia Tormentor floating lures (a great cheaper alternative to Rapala btw) ive had lots of browns on them since i started spinning last season anyways i took some still pics and a short vid but the vid is only of the fish in the net as i dont have a Go Pro yet and had to use my phones camera 😕 anyway i was looking at some vids of guys catching sea trout and although ive caught 2/3 before i looked at the still pics i have of the fish i caught and it turns out it was a sea trout 😆 and at 18 inches is a P.B for me 😆🙌 since i started using lures ive beat my old P.B 3 times those Tormentors are deadly 💯👌 I cant believe in my 35+ years of trout fishing i havent used lures or spinners until last year,what a fool lol i love this technique so much 💯👌 I have the vid on my channel along with some of my other wild brown catches if you want to have a look. I’ve had mine break every time until I started wrapping it around the line only 2-3 times. Not 10. Idk why but that’s what you gotta do with 4# line. Less is better. For thicker line, I bet you can wrap it many more times

Very clear, thanks! What's the % strength of this knot? I don't like to use the perfection knot for jigs because it's not very strong and it's troublesome passing the jig through the loop. Thanks!

Bud, your tag line should go back through the overhand knot on the same side where it came out (0:34). Look at 1:23 and you'll notice that they're not and why your knot is not streamline. All three passes should enter through the same side of the overhand knot and likewise exit on the same side of the overhand knot. If you try YOUR technique with a large rope, you'll be able to appreciate what I'm saying. Checkout the "Pocket Guide to Fishing Knots" by Peter Owen page 46. Tight Lines

Not so good. Braid will more often slip. You may loose your fish and lure. Therefore, many guys use Palomar knot.

Mono doesn't slip, and the process for tightening down the know is called "dressing"

You know GoPro’s aren’t that expensive, you could always make your own video and just watch them, and yes mono can slip and for me dressing is what I use on my salad not “the know” I’ve probably been fishing longer then you’ve been alive so bother someone else.

Wilson Hulett so because you had an issue which by the way was probably somehow your fault you feel it necessary to tell everyone else not to use this knot. This knot has been used for years by people over and over and over again. Did you lube the knot? Did you slowly cinch it down? What kind of line where you using size and type? Which line were you using for the leader? Maybe it was the line itself? What size and weight was the lure? Practice makes perfect sir. Maybe you tied it perfect maybe I’m just being a jerk. Fishing POV sorry for my comment I was angry at the time the line backlashed and weakened the line it wasn’t the knot that failed it was my line and also has this knot ever cane loose on you?

Wilson Hulett thank you for the apology. I have not had this knot fail but I have had it break in the loop before. I only use this knot for a little extra action when fishing top water though and I’m usually using heavy mono or braid.

Fishing POV the lure I lost was a whopper plopper 110mm but I ordered another one and is it necessary to use the loop knot for this lure or should I just keep using the polymer knot I also am using the loon color

Wilson Hulett with the prop lures you seldom stop, so I would say not enough to justify this knot. In all honesty for the whopper popper I personally use a snap swivel. This way when it catches weeds it’s still has the potential to spin around and sometimes you still get bites.
