Update 22.04.2023: With a broken heart we must inform you that Noor Jehan passed away this morning. After an unfortunate incident that left her unable to leave the pool in her enclosure, Noor Jehan was unable to stand up on her own. Despite all our tireless efforts and the endless work of the team on-site, we could not get her back on her feet. She fought for days but succumbed to her critical condition. As agreed with the authorities, we recommend that Madhubala should be relocated as soon as possible to a species appropriate place to at least give her a chance at a better life.
Noor Jehan's tragic story is a reminder of the suffering that captive wild animals endure in Pakistan and around the world. We hope that the authorities in Pakistan will take this as an example and do better for captive wild animals in the future. FOUR PAWS is ready to continue providing support and expertise to help improve the lives of as many animals as possible.

Update Noor Jehan: With this video, we want to give you more inside into the story of Noor Jehan 🎬🐘.
It was 2021 when we first met her, and our team returned several times to Karachi after that. Until the authorities make a decision about Noor Jehan's future, and as long as there is a chance that she can recover and doesn't give up ❤️, we will continue working hard to help her and ease her pain. FOUR PAWS is returning as soon as possible to Karachi to support in its best capacity.
We once again want to say thank you, to all the volunteers and the mahouts who have been on Noor Jehan’s site day and night over the last week, even during the special times of Ramadan. They are all doing their best to comfort her, turning her from site to site, to feed her, and to give her the required medicine.
Let us be strong together to achieve what is best for Noor Jehan. Send all your good and positive wishes to Noor Jehan and the local team on-site. We will keep you updated.
