In this episode we set off from the lovely Polkey's Mill Moorings and cross (a rather choppy) Breydon Water before venturing onto the Northern Rivers. We enjoy a lovely early evening cruise up towards St Benet's Abbey, where we stay the night (..and enjoy a bit of partying, courtesy of the Southern Comfort Party Boat!). Lastly, we are treated to another beautiful Sunset.

We passed you that day, on our way south. I agree the north was fairly busy, it was later in the week when we returned north anyway, but we were amazed at how quiet it was down south considering it was July. The loss of the Silverline fleet (sold to Richardson), based at Brundall seems to have made a big difference. Even Beccles Yacht Station was half empty. Shame to hear recently that the Stracey Arms shop, cafe and moorings are up for sale.

Hi Helen! Thanks for your comment, as always! I hope we gave you a wave when we passed each other that day. We agree, the Northern Rivers certainly felt busy to us (compared to our previous visits). I think you're right, with Silverline being taken over by Richardsons, it has definitely had an impact on the Southern Rivers, and has certainly limited where people can hire boats from on The South. We certainly had no idea that the Stracey Arms shop/cafe/moorings are up for sale; I wonder if the BA have any interest in acquiring these moorings? What are your thoughts? Take care

Perfect music for the drone shots of Polkey's Mill. Much preferred it when "The Stracey Arms Mill" was good old "Stracey Wind-Pump!" Always made my nephew laugh.

We are glad you enjoyed our choice of music for the drone footage. Yes, I always feel a bit funny calling them wind-pumps - think I need to grow up a bit! 😂
