We live in a society that respects all kind of freedom even when it's way overboard, OP does respect in part others' as well but still it's a problem. We need to redefine freedom in society, its boundaries or at the very least don't be surprised if there are issues. Individualism went way too far, but that's me. I wouldn't be offended, but for sure I'd be pretty much surprised and I might walk away from the store, sorry but that's how it is. Find your own group, I'm sure you'll find groups that are compatible with your choices as others are allowed to find their own. You can't force your choices on others, but that's what our modern society is actually doing, and while it will eventually fail. Forcing individualism in public is not the way.

Northern going over board with the bravery accolades was ridiculous. The person lives in Canada, the most Liberal country in the world, and is a member of a cult ( LGBTQ= - PI R SQUARED") a cult that gets an entire month of the year to celebrate itself, just because of it's sexual preferences. I wonder how long he/she spent considering the amount of pain that is kids and wife are going to suffer whilst he celebrates her/his bravery. He should collect chaos marines who worship the god of selfishness.

I went through some personality and identity shifts in my mid to late 30's. I can see how you might realize some new things about yourself at that age. When you're younger, you struggle to fit into the world around you. You want to impress people, particularly employers. Later you get more comfortable and resolute in who you are.

We're not trying to infiltrate and change your hobby to fit any agenda,just trying to make it fit our preferences and make us feel included .... *sighs* I'd say the reactions that person is getting is down to him showing up one day pushing an agenda,making people feeling uncomfortable and turning around and saying something like "What? It's them who have the problem" then going online playing the victim Seen it before. Gahhh life makes cynics of us all I guess

You aren't, sure. But there are people who are and have and they've already changed things. They're quite vocal about doing it, by the way. They've taken our grimdark setting, not suited for all audiences, and started turning it into Saturday morning cartoons and worse. But we know there's a difference between the two groups. One, like yourself, comes in and plays your way. The other comes in, takes over the official writing, and puts in lectures about present day shite in their books, interrupting what otherwise could have been great writing. Those are the people we're talking about. We don't hate you, we don't hate your community. It's just those 8 assholes we cannot stand. Every community has them, no one wants them around, but they always find a way to weasel their way into everything.

Transwoman are only about 1/1000 in the UK according to the census. Please try to understand how much of an oddity this really is. Most will only have experience of this condition through media and celebrities. These preconceptions will colour your experiences. As an aside, if you find this doesn't work out. And you'd rather revert for an easier life socially. Consider which is harder, coming out or detransitioning? Recognise how much of a hurdle it will be to backtrack.

I’m surprised there’s that many, then again it’s been trending and being pushed by certain elements that would certainly profit from it (pharmaceutical companies, plastic surgeons, psychologists)

@@ravenRedwake there are monetary incentives, but I'd suggest cultural/ideological incentives are far more pronounced. A nurse in a gender clinic isn't getting paid per patient for instance. And beyond that the care radically lags behind the number of patients. There just isn't enough resources to spare on this recent phenomenon.

I think OP is give less than half the story with the situation they are in to be honest, based off that logic alone i wouldn't feel comfortable playing them, regardless of who they are.

Whilst what you say about the origin is 100% - there are a lot of people including the "2S" now (especially in Canada) simply because they've been told "That's the term to use now",so they do, usually because they're either (a) trying to do what they've been told is "right" or (b) are too scared not to. Most of them couldn't tell you what everything after the "Q" stands for, never mind what it actually means - but they're not necessarily personally playing silly buggers by using the term.

For op transitioning. What if when you go to the store to play just dress neutrally. Untill you have fully transitioned. Just to begin with and as the people you olay with get to know the new you then you can start to show that side if you more openly. Might help the slower people to get comfortable with the true T that is you.

The "++" refers fo additional items coming after the "LGBTQ" element, as that varies depending on who you're talking to. The most common "full" version (at the moment) is LGBTQIA2S+, but there are "optional extras" that can be added. The "+" or "++" is intended to express inclusion of any other items that are not specifically stated. (My bestie is a lesbian, and we went through all that one drunk night!)
