I returned to a new area of Northumberland I am exploring, It was a late start but with the lighter nights I had loads of time to chill and watch the sunset.

I was also lucky enough to be sent another Trustfire torch to try, A MT16 so I also test this.
I always have my HR6 Trustfire torch with me and it has proved very good since I started using it in September 23.

It's a great view of the Border Ridge from there. I'll give that forest a go. I've enjoyed binging on your videos recently and was inspired to buy a tarp. Had my first night under it with a Rab bivvy up near The Curr. Freezing rain but it was great. Cheers.

You can’t beat a craggy location for the bivi ,as not many tents will find a pitch . Nice to see the sun shining but that bloody wind makes it feels 🥶 but you had a proper sheltered spot atb Dave ⛺️👍

Adrian, its interesting your thoughts on the Dutch hooped bivy compared to the NATO bag. I'm under the impression that both materials have good breathability, but the Dutch bivy might be Goretex which is more breathable?. I think good airflow is key to not getting moisture build up inside any bivy. As you know, always vent and don't breath too much inside allowing moisture build-up. Moisture will pass through the bivy membrane better if dryer outside. Also when camping in conditions when there is near to 100% humidity outside, you will still remain wet inside because moisture transfer through the fabric wont be as efficient as when it is dryer outside. 100% humidity outside means 100% humidity inside. I learned that lesson from a recent trip and my down filled bag was wet and I was cold. Great upload Adrian, thank you for sharing, ATB.

Hi Damian, wise true words, the secret of the dry hooped bivy is you can keep the side open and your head end is still warm with no draughts.where with the British one I tend to tighten right down to keep warm, to be fair both excellent bivy bags. Cheers Adrian

Still a bit chilly in April. We’re still getting frosts on some nights. As long as the frost isn’t melted then it shows that your bag is keeping you warm…or that you already got cold!

I’m always concerned that you’re keeping your legs, feet and hands as warm as possible. Your down jacket, trousers and footies look really warm. Do you sleep in your bivvy with your slippers on?

Absolutely cracking video Adrian, views are stunning, truly wetting my appetite for visiting up there, I tried my hooped bivvy the weekend (posted a video on my channel) lovely bit of kit, do you peg out all 6 points?, I did the tag on the hooped bivvy section too, bit belt and braces, but trying these things out, had a lovely 2 nights of kip, used my Dutch army extra thick roll mat underneath, and a multimat 25 in the bivvy, even with my size, tons of room, love your enthusiasm for the outdoors, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig
