FAIRLY sure I can pronounce it (though I am from Sweden and lived in Norway for a bit more than ten years).. but.. it DOES make me wonder about.. what your situation is?.. do you live in the US, or somewhere else where "Anne" is difficult to pronounce?.. or... did you chose to create a profile using a different name than you actually have?

Growing up around Norwegians in Minnesota is pretty much a continuous giggle fest. My Dad's first language was Norwegian and it is just fun to listen to. He called it "Sing songy". That is so true. But, there is that time when all the "old" men would break into laughter and us kids would ask what was so funny. The answer was never funny. We didn't actually figure out until we grew up a bunch that they were telling dirty jokes. Dad would say they just laughed because of how the language sounded. The bottom line is that language really is best when it is funny. Kjell translates this well into Engrish.

7:10 Nah, you like one of them As Seen on TV ads where there's this product that is right off the bat seen as useful and then Billy Mays says, "But wait! There's more!" And then he goes on to add this other quality that makes the product EVEN better and then adds a super deal that makes you wanna "Call Now!" You were the extra bonus that made your brother better. He owes his success to you. Because without a technically youngr brother, he would have no one to feel smug and superior to. It's an older sibling thing- trust me, I'm oldest of 5. We owe our success to you. You can just coast off their success.

My name is Damajah. My sisters are Sicah, Sama, Ilya, and Dasia. Our parents names are Heather and Jeremy- Andrew and Lucy if you count the stepparents and technically Jeremiah if you count what my dad called himself after the divorce and arrests. We are white Americans with no ties to the various cultural backgrounds my dad pulled our names from. He just thought they sounded cool. So all that to say- I relate.

The only 2 things in my life that I know for sure that I succeeded in more than my sister is that I'm 7 minutes older and that I potty-trained her by observing my older sister. I love how he makes a joke about having to correct Americans on how to pronounce his name, when he can't even pronounce his, or his brother's, name correctly... But, tbf, some people in Norway do struggle with the distinction between the skj- and kj- sound... as well as some other similar sounds to them. (We have a lot... ;-;) So, they often do say skjell (shell) instead of Kjell. XD (But we also get this difference "hammered" into us from a young age since we know these are sounds people often confuse.)
