I don't really like the opening of the song. The guitar buildup is what makes this song so great if you ask me. The guitar riff progression is smooth af and the refrain truly feels like the strongest point of the song. Just a solid all around rock song

Nostalgia is one of my favorite emotional states, because it’s euphoric and painful at the same time. You have this memory etched deep inside you of some incredible moment, it’s like time stopped and you lived in this moment for an eternity, yet... there’s pain because that’s not where you are now. You will never actually be in that moment again. But you’re still glad to have had it. Nostalgia can be some deep life existential stuff

This song, please don't laugh, really reminded me to appreciate and keep in mind, to hold onto those little moments that makes memories so amazing. I was a teenaged mom. I knew my son's childhood would come to an end at some point so when we'd drive around listening to this song, I'd look at his little face and acknowledge the fact that some day he would be a man and I would still be his mom. It hurts but it's so worth it. Life is tough but it's worth it ❤️

Such an amazing song. I remember hearing Dave perform the acoustic on Howard Stern and being blown away. 17 years later, my wife and both attend a Foo Fighters concert at Fenway Park in separate seats 2 days before our first date. 2 years after that, we had our first dance to a different acoustic version from the 24 hours of Foo on MTV.

This song always reminds me of this time when I was in seventh grade and I couldn't sleep and it came on the radio so I recorded it on a tape cassette and I played it over and over that night. It wasn't the first time I heard the song but for some reason that was like the most awesome night I've ever had in my life. I was just by myself listening to the song over and over again even though I had to go to school the next morning I don't know something magical I guess. The song just has a perfect vibe for that kind of thing. I know it's kind of a corny story but whatever.

This was one of my favorite songs as a kid. I was never a Foo Fighers fan, but I liked this one. Interesting, I went through something similar. Falling in love with another woman as my mariage reached it's end. It was going to end either way, and the new love was a complete surprise. Only this love was something more just another relationship doomed to fail. This new woman turned out to be my twin flame. Many people don't believe it's a real thing, but I assure you it is. This is a love that can never end, and exists as unconditional love in the spirit realm. No matter what your counterpart does, it is not possible for twin flames to ever fall out of love, and it is not possible for twin flames to cheat on each other, due to the underlying unconditional love. Love isn't a gift, and it's not something you can recieve. Love just is, and it's only a matter of tuning in or tuning out. We harmonize with it, the way he harmonized with his new love in the song.

Grew up listening to this as a kid, I never knew it was a love song. But whenever I hear it, it brings me back to when I was a happy kid just being me. Loving life, not asking so many questions, not burdened by thought or responsibility. Not realizing I was alone and was happy alone. Not noticing the growing hole where a good friend, lover or even family member is supposed to be. I know it's stupid, but I feel the lyrics translate so well to that. The entire song makes me think of family, friends, pets I'll never see again, or relationships that just aren't the same as they were. It reminds me of when I felt I could go to anyone in my family for anything and be myself. Which is a far cry from reality today... I apologize for the comment. But I really needed to get this out. I adore this song so much. This, the minecraft soundtrack and a few other amazing songs are the things that keep me happy in this world and keep me staying. Have fun, stay safe. Thank you for reading.

I was so alone and down that giving up my life seemed like the only option. But when nobody could understand my pain, Everlong did. My pain was being reflected back and I wasn’t alone. It taught me that nothing ever feels like this forever. The good, the bad, and everything in between. But it’s worth it, and I’m so glad this song was there for me. Yesterday was rehersing with my band, a chick ive liked for years came to watch, when we played everlong she sang along, everlong has always been one of my favourite songs but the way she looked into my eyes for a good 10 seconds while singing it will stay with me forever

Not really a Foo Fighters fan but since it came out I've probably heard this song 5200 times and each one felt special.
