Sadly this isn't about if the "mother" was present or owes the daughter for not raising her, this is about if the money given was a loan. Legally, none of the pretext matters. There are 2 people swearing they are telling the truth saying that it was a loan and since the daughter had no evidence to the contrary, it's cut and dry.

Even if there are only two grown children, there's always one little vampire who will take and take and never be able to stand on their own two feet. That woman didn't raise any of her children, yet her daughter has to repay her. The mother wanted to be a part of her children's lives after they were damn near ADULTS. She think she slick by not being there for her children so that she didn't have to take on responsibility as a parent who would have to look after and care for her children "financially." 7:53 i think the judge should have analyzed the two letters that supposedly was written by two different individuals, from the looks of it the same person wrote both letters in which they tried to disguise it by changing the way they wrote their capital Ts but then forget to continue to write it as such, they then got sloppy when it came to (Jamison), (also) (g), (w) on both letters they are the exact same as well as other words. By the looks of the judge face when she gave her verdict i dont think she really wanted to rule in the mothers favor, and she shouldnt have due to the fact that the same person wrote both letters.

The fact that she never raised not one of her children should have been enough to write off that extra $980! That “mother” is extremely selfish ! Whether her daughter borrowed the money or not she should have called it a loss. Raising children is far more expensive than $980! The fact that she didn’t raise any of her kids that alone, she should have been more than willingly to wrote that small amount off !!!

She probably had a better life being adopted rather than being raised by her mom so in all rights mom did her a huge favor by letting a relative adopt her so she really doesn't owe her daughter a thing for not raising her. Her daughter should be glad that her mom knew she wasn't the best choice for a mom and have her to one that was.

I have given money as a gift, and not a loan at times. I knew the person I'm speaking of would never ask and was having a horrible year, was doing his best, and still getting kicked in the pants by "life" so, I just gave what I could. The person used the gift wisely, and didn't ask for more. I was depressed and felt empty, but then, I got an unexpected gift too, I actually felt that elusive feeling called "happiness!"

Daughter is so jealous of her mom and siblings. Cause she was raised with a different parents, she is mad at her mom not giving her more and more money. Loan was a loan, adult child. Bio mom is not getting younger and you have parents who raised you. Be glad you had a home and loving parents. You need help, mental health help, child, cause you have yet to grow up and move on.

This doesn't apply to this case but I didn't know where to put it :( Thanks SO MUCH for having Harvey read or recap the question to him at the end of each episode. I have the TV on for background noise and was rarely able to see the question so when he answered I was totally in the dark!! Thanks again!

I wish they would seriously get rid of Doug! All he does is repeat what the judge said! He serves NO purpose there and Harvey always has the last word. Doug just tries to make people more upset and irritable before leaving. Every single time someone leaves he says.."You have to follow the law. The judge says you're guilty. You have to pay! The judge called you dumb and the whole country heard it!" He instigates an argument between every single plaintiff and defendant. I liked it better with just Harvey having the last word because Harvey speaks facts.

I feel and relate to the defendant a lot. Wasn’t adopted out but have the same kind of “parent” in both my mother and father. “I’ve moved on” yeah you were never there lady. And no real parent would ever move on from their child. Short of the child doing something unspeakably evil

Several people are upset with the mother because she did not raise any of her four children. What she said at the end was that she was not capable and that she put them in the care of others who could take care of them. That to me is way better than someone keeping children and mistreating or neglecting them. For whatever reason, she couldn't take care of them, but she didn't abandon them. She put them in the care of others who could raise them. I worked in special education years ago and we had several children who came to school daily who were not being taken care of properly. Some of these kids were meal tickets for their families. So I applaud this woman for letting others raise her children when she knew she wasn't capable.

Y’all keep saying the mother is wrong for giving her kids up but would say the same thing if she kept them and didn’t want them.. keep the same energy when something bad happens to kids whose mothers don’t want to give them up. The daughter said she would pay her back and she didn’t.. it would be no point of asking for money that you want to take because of resentment.
