The People's Court

The People's Court

Жыл бұрын

The plaintiff claims the defendant got into a car crash, ran into a fence, and knocked it over. The fence fell on the plaintiff’s parked car, destroying it, so the plaintiff is suing for the damages. The defendant alleges his gas pedal got stuck in place, and he’s just lucky to be alive. The defendant believes the plaintiff is an opportunist trying to rip him off.

PIP is for medical coverage. & even with that if it exceeds the amount you’re covered by, you can still sue the other driver. One cop was like 6' 7" and 250lbs. One cop said to him, I bet brother man over here can outrun you. The 6' 7" cop turns to look at me, and said, he knows what would happen if I caught him. The deli worker behind the counter looked at me in shock. I didn't say anything for obvious reasons. I happened to know the deli worker we've been friends for years. That they originally offered now the defendant has to come out of pocket for the $2200 that his insurance was willing to pay, that's why you pay for insurance so you dont have to come out of pocket, I understand it may be to late for him to get anything from insurance company but I think that would be on him, maybe he should of accepted the $2,200 and sued defendant for additional damages I understand that when you take money from an insurance company you sign something saying you're settling but that's just saying you're settling with the insurance company and that you're not going to sue to try to get more money from them it doesn't say that you can't go after the person responsible for the wreck.

I also felt a little bit uncomfortable with the fact that the judge didn't call the insurance company to verify that he wasn't already paid the 2200 just because he showed a form that they sent without his signature doesn't mean anything he could have made a photocopy before he signed it, they could have sent two copies, that's something that the judge should have most definitely verified especially since he worded it in his statement to the court that he had received the additional money from the insurance company why would he say that?

I've been feeling a bit irritated with JM I believe some of her judgments have been premeditated 🤦🏾she's turning into Judge Judy time to leave the bench.
