Finally have water (mountain spring water!), and a washer and dryer....and soon a little workshop. It's been a year since we left NH and we are finally settling in.

I just love the solid, north country construction values, but, its the unexpected music that floors me everytime! Great job everybody!

Loved the piano-guitar combo. Adding a fiddle would be great. Thanks for sharing your journey.

Jon, always good to receive another installment of your life. Hope you and your family have a safe and joyous winter in your bungalow. You are a true pioneer and survivalist. What, couple of violins this winter? Can’t wait!

First thing I thought of was that groundhog I seen earlier is going to love you for raising the building up for him,
@grandpasmountain5 жыл бұрын
Haha! I filled his hole by the bungalow with concrete! So he moved up into the woods and I see him from time to time.
@TheWisendorf5 жыл бұрын
Yea I filled a couple holes with big rocks but they seem to still come back again.I had to resort to spring traps ,Hated to do that but they was collasping my garage. Oh and I heard they really like good music so watch out buddy.@@grandpasmountain

Jon, great update on your progress. Do you think you will have to add heat trace to your pump house water lines? Cherish your girls. When done properly, it's the hardest job given a man on earth
@grandpasmountain5 жыл бұрын
I don't know. I am ready to do it, if necessary. The water tank is a heat battery, as well as the earth. I am hoping that with a little extra insulation in the walls, it will hold up. We have had temps down to 14 degrees and no issues so far. Thankyou-- I do cherish them...time goes by so fast. I know they will be gone soon. We have 7 children and our home keeps shrinking as they go....

I've been watching your videos. Look great all. But how did you fare in the Tenessee winters though? Did the water lines freeze up at all or doesn't it get cold down there in winter? Have a blast, take care.
@grandpasmountain2 жыл бұрын
It has gotten down to -3 here and usually gets in the teens and 20s ..... for a month or so, at night mostly. During the day Temps generally are above freezing. The ground never freezes. The Bungalow has only needed a little electric heater to stay warm!

Jon, have you considered selling your bungalow plans? I'd definitely be interested in a set!
@grandpasmountain5 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have been thinking of offering a set of plans. BTW --- I built this whole thing complete for $7500.
@MrMoon1ight_5 жыл бұрын
It may be a dumb question, and homebuilding isn't my area of expertise but do you have to deal with any building codes? I'm actually in southeast TN and have intentions of putting one of these on my property someday soon.
@grandpasmountain5 жыл бұрын
@@MrMoon1ight_ All building codes are different for each county. You just have to ask. I built here because I only needed minimal permissions. I can build whatever I want.
