I'm not an American but i just recently discovered this case and the thing that stood out to me was how tribal humans can be. When he was acquited, the response from total strangers was too emotional. On one hand, white women were crying and trembling with rage, on the other, black people were cheering as if someone discovered a cure for cancer. The fact that the trial was watched by an unprecedented 150 million people indicates this case was more special to Americans than any other murder case. It really is a case study of human nature and the danger of tribal "us vs them" mentality, which we see everyday, but was really brought to the forefront by this case.

The teacher left and OJ turned and walked towards the door. The principal asked OJ where he was going. There are videos of an O.J. Simpson juror admitting 90% of the Jury knew he killed Nicole and Ron, but let him off for revenge for Rodney King's beating. For those who do not know the Rodney King story. Rodney (black) was high AF. chased by police as he sped 90 mph through a residential area with two passengers, he refused to pull over because he was a felon on parole for robbery. The cops cornered him, and his 2 passengers gave up peacefully. King decided to charge the cops, the cop's tasers were ineffective so the cops gave him a wood shampoo. Four cops were acquitted of the beating, so a certain demographic got pissed and burned down parts of Los Angles, BLM-style.
@skyhawk_4526
@skyhawk_4526 24 күн бұрын
@@cannedheat300 the OJ Simpson jury did NOT follow the law. There was absolutely zero reasonable doubt that OJ was guilty based on the evidence presented to them. They chose to let a man they knew was a double murderer go free and let two victims' families suffer even more merely because they were angry at what some other LAPD officers did in a completely unrelated case three years prior to them entering the deliberation room. The jurors have the blood of two innocent victims on their hands and probably deserve the same fate as the defendant in that case.

ANOTHER OJ analysis... But that's OJ, but with interviewers who gave him tough questions, he would shut down and nearly become verbally violent, and never once did I see OJ express any actual emotion related to loss or sadness about the death of a person he once supposedly loved.......

My Jr High Years were a series of OJ Simpson highlights. I went to school 5 minutes from Nicole's home. I will always remember the Monday morning the day after the murders, all day you could hear news choppers circling the area. That didn't stop for a while.The rest of the days were chaos trying to get to and from school. On my last day of 6th grade, as I was arriving home in the early evening, the chase was just starting. I spent parts of 7th & 8th grade passing Nicole's home on my way home to the watch the trial. Nothing but oj on tv after school. I was in my 8th grade science class when the Verdict was announced. Some random kid opened the classroom door and said, " Oj found not guilty" shut the door a second later I hear the song " gonna make you sweat" playing. Not sure if that was related to this kid making the rounds announcing the verdict. It was super random. So much of those years were just oj related.

Thank you, Dr. Grande! Like many, I remember watching the chase, trial and acquittal... Their children were asleep upstairs, and he didn't care at that his children could've found their mother and another person savagely butchered... evil man!

I guess I'm dishonest too because if I were on the jury, I was voting to acquit as soon as I saw the lead detective plead the fifth for planting evidence.

@@naithngr81-jh2bb I understand what you say and the detective was stupid. However, o.j. was so obviously guilty, I think the detective did it cause he knew he was guilty and wanted an assured guilty verdict but it blew up in his face. He probably wouldn't do it to an innocent man, but who knows 🤦‍♀️

Norm backed off on O.J. In his latest years. I think he said O.J. Is only guilty of being the greatest rusher in history, and if anything I’m the greatest rusher in judgment, about O.J.. Something of that affect. I think he sympathized with O.J.’s cancer diagnosis seeing that Norm secretly had Leukemia.

One of the primary "Give us Barabbas" moments in American history. Which I kind of suspect encouraged anyone who was already inclined to think divisive tribal rhetoric was a winning sociopolitical ticket to just double down on it going forward.

Some people seemed to think it was a game, part of scorekeeping. Team Rodney 1 Team Nicole / Ron 2 Sickening because innocent people were slaughtered, and many American blacks, not all, but many, cheered it like it was a ballgame. The trial influence my thinking in several ways. Money can buy you the sleaziest lawyers who will lie to a jury, the morality and integrity of some blacks is always in question as the race card has greater value than a life, and don't do anything that could put your life in the hands of a jury.

I'm from Buffalo, the second gym I opened was in a former very popular nightclub where he and other Buffalo Bills players would go. Some of my clients (a little older than me) told me stories of how he mistreated her and other women in that club, years before they were married (he had known Nicole for A long time). As a kid he was a hero to me. Sunday was the most anticipated day of the week because he was such an exciting player... unfortunately that image was shattered after the un-aliving of Nicole.
