Veteran’s Day 2017 was a bitterly cold day in the northeast, and I wound up spending the entire day railfanning the Pittsburgh Line in just one town - Newport, PA. Newport has many great spots and the lighting is perfect for most of the day. With the removal of all of the Pennsy-style position lights signals coming very soon, I wanted to document them, particularly today with ex-PRR Colonial Crafts on Amtrak’s Pennsylvanian, making its first trip over the old Pennsy Middle Division in over 30 years.
