There’s an unwanted grade in the trackwork on my N-scale layout. I show you how I’m getting rid of the unwanted grade in this video. And I explain why I’m getting rid of it. And yes, you will see trains running in this video.

The layout is looking good Roy. I showed my layout to former neighbors of mine when they came to visit me. Their youngest granddaughter is interested in model railroading. I recommended that she buys a Kato starter train set to get started in the hobby, also told her it’s best to take your time in the hobby. I will be doing a train rotation tomorrow. I will be running my Amtrak Coast Starlight on the layout for so many runs & will t rotate my Amtrak locomotives when I will be running my Amtrak train. I’m working on removing the paper on corrugated boxes so that I will be painting it red to simulate tile roofs for my planned passenger train station & covered walkway which I will scratch build the passenger train station & covered walkway.

Great solution, Roy! I’ve always used the 2% incline/decline’s on my model too. What’s really neat about these is you can also lay them on the sides for even a higher elevation, gotta love Woodland products, they might be a little pricey but they make life easier. Thanks Roy and hope you are feeling and doing better, your bride too. Ron

I'd say it's a good idea to check your Kato track before deciding not to weight it when gluing, I've had a lot of 248mm straights that were bowed and weighting sorted that out!

that is the main thing. if you don't like it, then change it. that is one of my biggest pet peeves, little dips or small bumps in the track and cars come uncoupled. always somewhere where you can't reach easy.

I like your videos and your layout. I'm curious about how you manage the track connections for the lifting section? Have you sawed through some of the Kato track pieces?
@n-scaleunionpacificevansto6569

Thanks for your comment, my friend. It's good to hear from you. Regarding the track connections for the lift-up bridge, it would be possible to saw through the track, but instead, I use Kato track expansion sections. There's an example of how they work in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qsWKdJmSxKiRlJc.html&t ...Roy

Roy, Nicely done. As you say a painless way to either to elevate your track or in this case to level the track. You would have been running this re-leveled section for a week or so now so how do you find it? The trains seem to run very smoothly through this area. Cheers, Chris Perry.

Ok, helpful.... but... you did not show how you actually put the lifts under the track, or glue the pieces into place. That would have been helpful.
