Hi! Would the size of this cooktop work well with a 12 inch skillet? Or would you need a smaller skillet in order to cook well. Thanks!

Great question! You can use a larger skillet. I’ve used up to 12”. However, the majority of the heat will be generated in that center circle. The rest of the pan will get hot, but there is a noticeable difference between inside and outside the magnetic field. I hope that helps!

It really depends on what you’re trying to cook and how much of it. The larger the pan, the wider the surface area that is available to make contact with the food, even if it’s not directly over the burner. Whatever you do, don’t overcrowd your pan!

Great question, Jackson! Yes, I still have THREE of them that I use for cooking classes. I bought them nearly 5 years ago, and they still work great.

is it supposed to be so loud?

It does make some sound as the electromagnets get whirring, but it shouldn’t be noisy. If it’s really loud, you may want to check with the manufacturer or seller.
