Once we placed the 1-4 pair in column 8, we had enough information to complete both row 3 and box 2. That was pretty cool.

I had a hard time for the first two-thirds, I think. I followed my standard procedure: when stuck, centermark the grid. During this process, I found at least two triples and several pairs that seriously damaged the puzzle. Finally, the puzzle gave up. 1:20 I noticed the 9362 in block 6, which matched four available cells in column 7. That turned out useless except as a quad, but it gave me a 14 pair in block 6, as well as a 58 pair. 4:50 Eventually, I suppose, I will notice things such as the 589 in column 2 and block 7, but I didn't here. I found a 79 pair and a 135 triple in column 1 much later, which would have placed the 9 in R9C1. That was probably where the tide turned for me, because as I filled out block 7, I got the 58 pair and 9 placed in R9C1. 8:10 Fairly early, I filled out row 3 and block 2, which changed some outcomes of other cells where you found pairs and triples.

Great video! Love the way you found the hidden triples and pairs at the beginning, I do eventually find them, but your way is much more streamlined 😮

27:37... much better than yesterday... not your level obviously but still i try... as always thanks for your insights i think i did the clues in the opposite order as you... finding that hidden 146 triple in c2 was so clutch

So it seems the three things were, finding the 7 in the center square, finding the naked triple in the 7th square, then the 8 in the first square. Seems easy now but it took me 11 hours.

I guess the reason why 2 digits can't be missing (from the givens) is because if they were the solution wouldn't be unique anymore? since those digits could be interchanged.
