Boys look sluggish and unfit to be fair, whole season has been the same every game except maybe the bunnies. No cohesion and so many lazy penalties are killing us! It’s gonna rain in Sydney everyday this week with heavy falls predicted for the weekend again. I’m predicting roosters by at least 20

Another tough ugly watch .At least our goal line "D" was back to an acceptable level even though Knights didn't throw a lot at us but far too many basic errors/penalties hurt again.Sure the ref was pedantic but he always is so we should be aware of how he refs and respond accordingly. Cows had a bad season in 2023 after a great season in 2022 I believe due to Payten being unwilling to evolve/change even slightly just saying "it works so we will play the same but do it better".I really believe we have fallen into a very similar space.We are making great yardage etc but our goal line attack is so predictable at times it is painful to watch. Dolphins are always evolving /changing things slightly under Bennet even with injuries hurting.Their match winning try on weekend with a surprise reverse halfs pass back across the ruck putting Drinkwater out of position so an ingoal kick was lethal a prime example but we don't anything unpredictable like that. We are missing Marata and Metcalf big time plus CHT's left foot kicking game would be handy right now but it is what it is. I agree bring Ale Leiatuau in ASAP but not for Berry instead move RTS to the wing.Montoya is playing fairly well but let's be honest he is just an average first grader.Barnett is going great maybe move him back to the ruck edge for impact and bring Zyon in although he had an average cup game with a couple basic poor errors so who knows. Oh well a hot Chookies side awaits hopefully we lift and avoid a belting but I am not overly optimistic it will happen.

Yeah a tough watch for sure. I worry a little Webby is very fixed on something he’s trying to achieve, it’s clearly not working so we do need to adapt. Wonder how long before he does give Ali a go??

Agree totally. We need more creative runners out there with a bit of X factor. Tuapiki and Ali come to mind. Id move RTS to wing and drop Montoya. Perhaps put Tuapiki in TMMs spot. Zyon should come in too. However, Webby will no doubt keep the exact same team unless injuried players come back. He will want to give the players a chance to redeem themselves. Cant do this every week though.

Ali was out this past week and Taine seemed to do something to his knee so not sure either would be available even if we wanted to bring them in. Challenging times

Thanks lads, exactly what the dr ordered.. top therapy. Re officiating I'll just say this, the eyes dont lie 🤐 The lateral offense is an easy fix, it starts with alignment so am super perplexed why it continues & yes CNK is running on E the last 20 so big Ed on with RTS to fb for that period gets 👍🏼👍🏼. TNT to 6.. he's a 5/8 bar last 3 seasons & would solve so many current offensive issues incl taking heat off SJ. Plus he ain't shy on D. Bench selections & rotations STILL a major imo 2 season's in & yes get we're down on troops, playing under major fatigue does that. We need to get smart there & show more faith. 🙏🏼

Yeah it will take a few years to full embed this game plan, but it will be worth it in the end. Just going to such when we have patches like this along the way

Predictability: Opposing teams can scout and exploit weaknesses in a predictable game plan. If the team always lines up the same way and runs the same plays, it becomes easier to defend against. Lack of Adjustment: The game can be a fluid thing. A rigid plan might not account for unexpected situations like a key player getting injured, the other team playing a different style than expected, or the game being played in bad weather conditions. Reduced Player Creativity: A super structured plan can stifle creativity from the players on the field. In the moment, players might see an opening the coaches don't, but a rigid plan might not allow them to take advantage. Demoralization: If the rigid plan isn't working, it can be demoralizing for the players. They might feel stuck and unable to adapt, leading to a drop in performance.

That’s the answer I got when I asked chat AI “ what are some problems that could happen to a sports team that has a rigid game plan” found it very interesting what it said because I saw somethings in the Warriors, especially the demoralisation to players bit, as that’s the best way I could describe the players lately!

Think the attack has broken down potentially large part because of sjs injury. We seem to be obsessed with the one tactic of arm wrestle even when chasing points- works if you win the arm wrestle but if you consistently lose it you're not going anywhere. Last season we snuck away with a few of these games with close margins and everybody just remembers a win- always said a bunch of them could have gone the other way on a ref xall or bounce of the ball and the whole narrative would have been different which changes the whole season outlook/momentum. Unfortunately this year it has! If we had of iced those early games the narrative would be different and I'm sure the boys would be playing with a lot more confidence and sneaking away with wins. I think momentum and confidence has so much value in the nrl

yeah look at the storm they the opposite of US, wining all those close games and the only game they ran away with was the same as us vs the Rabbitohs.

Boys aren't helped by SJ carrying his injury as it definitely impacts our attack. We have become deeper each and every week and it becomes very easy for the opposition to simply slide on defence, making our slick right edge look slow and shovel ball.. The contrast is real if you look at Rd4 v Knights highlights on KZfaq to this weekend..... Egan out of dummy half, AFB and co running onto the ball flat, with plenty of post contact meters then SJ playing flat and fast attacking the line makes us look a real threat... Need some bench impact and in that we badly need Maiu'u IMO. Would like to see RTS shift to the wing and bring in Ali to the centres Great to see a collab too.

I think Marata Niukore's influence on the opposition's defense, gave SJ more time, Capewell doesn''t have the same fear factor. hence the switching of sides with Ford (Ford isn't the answer either). Find someone to play the scary back rower role until MN is back. SJ primarily stuck to the right side play, with Metcalf starting to provide similar play options from the right, this isn't happening with TM. Seems to me the replacements haven't been like for like, as with the Penrith machine, and the Warriors have lost their way on attack as a consequence. Therfore hard to come to any conclusion with RTS, as the team isn't functioning as it was.

Yeah I still have full faith we make the 8, but we need to turn it around really quick. I reckon it will be challenging for any club ti go on a long unbeaten streak with the way the comp is this year

No problems with the Webslinger. It's his team not putting in 100 and making dumb mistakes only rookies should ge guilty of that's the problem

Don't like RTS at centre's either, he plays centre like there's Noone outside him- but if we were opening them up down that side it might be different. I reckon rts looks better on the right, surely he can roam a bit or something in attack? I do miss pompey though I reckon underrated and overhated. Need a niukore punch back and a sj running freely

You guys said it. Errors, poor discipline put us on the back foot early and we never really recovered. The boys were gassed. At one point our line speed was static. Winning all the stats is one thing, but at the end of the day you gotta cross the line. We currently lack flair and imagination. Yes, they’ve worked us out and we are predictable. Is that bad footy…no…but to win doing that we have to cut the errors and we aren’t. There were a lot of bad call’s against as usual, but the comp is so close we have to anticipate this and get well ahead. There were many headaches from this game for me. I’m getting sick of DWZ trying to milk a penalty with the DWZ jaw grab…this pisses off cos every time he does it we lose momentum. However, I’m backing us this week to come back with a win. Keep the faith!

Good talk guys, I like the idea of Pompey in the 2nd row, prefer him playing centre inside RTS and give Montoya a break - in saying that I prefer Montoya to Dallin as a winger at the mo. Agree, RTS needs to offload rather than allow himself and the ball to be smothered in a tackle and play to holt. SJ needs to trust the left edge more and also allow Egan to play to the left to mix up the game plan a bit. TMM linking up with CNK, Pompey and RTS could be an interesting watch. Tohu could do with a respite during the game too. Like your idea of bringing in Kosi whether he plays centre combination with Montoya or spotting Dallen on the wing... The injection of Jazz in the game should be a steadying influence on the boys. If SJ is carrying an injury, could Tuaupiki be inserted to change the pace? Love to see him and TMM create momentum and give Egan room to do his magic, that's if our forwards can do what they do... Wish the boys well this weekend. Up da Wahs!

Thanks for the detailed comments. Yeah Adam played second row in cup last week. Not sure how he went because the game wasn’t televised. I don’t mind the idea of Taine at 6 because he has a good kicking game. However not sure he has the size to defend in the front line for the whole game and he is also carrying some kind of knee issue. Hope CHT is back soon

Since 1995 we've had many moments like these, its nothing new at all to capitulate. Just when you think we've turned a corner and bang down we go, even under Ivan we had moments when we struggled hard we just have to get balance back into our squad and bench.

All I can say is be patient, this is not the Warriors of old. We will get better and better. Will it be this year? Maybe not, but within a couple of years our team will be a different beast. Still, want to win games now too 😅

I think he is, but we aren’t giving him quality ball. But if I’m honest, 5/8 is somewhere we’re a way behind the big teams ahead of us.. even with Luke there.

We need to use our edge back rowers more the defense knows we ain't using them so when we go out the back to CNK he's already a defender in his face people want RTS at FB but he's gonna face the same issues if we look at the wins our edge back rowers were huge for the team our middles are not really an issue they get us up the field but again if we use Capwell & Ford then our backs will do business.

Look at Brisbane, Sharks, Penrith, Sea Eagles even Titans they rely heavy on there edge back rowers a lot it puts the defense in two minds something we aren't doing.

I said to you a couple weeks ago that the Warriors defence (especially under quick play-the-ball pressure) is getting poorer - and that's an issue of complacency (no matter what the Warriors or Webby try to excuse). The best teams maintain their intensity for 80. We go missng for 5 to 10 minutes at a time. Do I see it changing? No. We'll get hammered by the Roosters and Penrith (unless we change our attitude). Too many players are giving 80%. 90% is a minimum. But after the Panthers and Roosters we'll improve. By then it'll be too little too late. I'll be happy to eat my hat though. What to do? Swap Charnze and Roger. Put our biggest toughest forwards on in the 1st half. Force SJ to share playmaking with his 6. Speed up our game. Don't blame refereeing. That's more excuses.

Defence isn’t our issue. We’ve been in every game except for against the dragons. We can’t score! Our attack if floundering. We need RTS to be unlocked. Drop TMM put in RTS at 6

I’d say having guys on the bench who bring line speed will make a defence. Walker Jazz, and probably Freddy means we have guys who attack the line in D not just sit back and wait. Should make a difference but we shall see

A lot of people putting all this on TMM, he’s not getting quality go forward ball to work with. That’s always doing to make it a struggle

@JustCayzz why would you further play RTS out of position? Better to sub Charnze for a game or two until he comes right. If Roger is the best at the back, that's football.

Not it’s tough to see the boys struggling to put it together, also not ideal to hear that it’s going to be wet again 🤦🏻‍♂️ at least the boys are over there training in the rain everyday so will hopefully be used to it

They look so tired and lethargic ever since the manly game. Only eight rounds in and they needed the ten day rest in between games, something to do with an extra tough pre season maybe?

Id say it’s more to do with the injuries resulting in Egan, Tohu, AFB and Barnett playing too many minutes, and the way we’re made so many errors that has meant we’ve spent way to much time on the back foot.

Bench is a big issue. Rotation dosnt bring any energy. Tohu shouldnt be playing 80. AFB shouldnt be playing 60+ Egan needs a rest. Ale is to small. Montoya needs a break. Martin needs to run and make calls more. Shaun needs to be more explosive, and train...

JWH will be licking his lips for game 300 - Roosters will put 60 on the Warriors. Something went wrong pre-season; the boys just aren't there in 2024, sorry to say.

That’s getting a bit carried away with 60, but we could definitely end up with a score on us if we done cut out the mistakes and penalties
