Hi Friends
This week I wanted to share my thoughts on O.J. Simpson passing. He was the center and defendant in what a lot of people call The Trial of the Century. Before that he was an American icon. A football star that was known as an incredible running back that played for the Buffalo Bills.
All of that would be overshadowed by the horrible crimes he was accused of against his wife Nicole Simpson and Ronald Goldman, and ultimately found not guilty for. The verdict may have been not guilty but the public would never deem him innocent.
OJ is a center of American pop culture as well with him both being one of the reasons that we know who the Kardashians are to some speculating he could be Khloe Kardashian’s father. Robert Kardashian and Johnnie Cochran were part of the dream team credited with keeping him out of prison.
I also talk about how online culture has morphed and what 60 years of marriage will do to a couple.
Thanks for watching. If you enjoy please share with someone who could use a laugh and most of all thanks for being my friends.
If you love my stories I have a podcast that comes out every week: bit.ly/3NQmpio

Honest question from a huge fan: Is it tough being a comedian that often intentionally talks on stage EXPECTING silence from the audience for so much of your bit? But then you STILL have to judge how well you're holding the audience based on what KIND of silence it is? Seems like a tough line to walk, and you consistently nail it

Therapist here, but I used to be a family law mediator that specialized in intimate violence and abuse cases. In Minnesota, the custody laws are general neutral. Each parent automatically gets 25% parenting time with the other 50% divided by what is in the best interests of the chil(ren). For example, if the parents live far apart from each other, one parent will usually get the school year and the other gets the summers. It is not about gender, and no gender is favored. If there is active abuse, the formula changes. But absent abuse, that is how it works in Minnesota. Long term outcomes appear better if the parents utilize mediation rather than going through litigation.

How does that work for little babies and toddlers? If the other parent lives far away? For older kids I get it, I was one that did the back and forth (and HATED it) thing, but that seems super detrimental to little kids who need stability I would think? I'm genuinely asking because you're the expert here and I am just assuming.

I love the way this guy lays out a problem or an issue real people face, reconstructs it in a detailed and sympathetic way that really feels like the audience might be getting some greater understanding of the core issue, then punctuates it with, "And that's how you get incells." It's clever and informative without punching down. FUCKING BRILLIANT!

Omg, brilliant. So unafraid to let the silence speak for itself. The intensity of the serious commentary and breaking the tension he’s built in unpredictable ways. Josh’s videos have made him one of my faves after the shortest time ever.

Great job, as ever! You have the coolest ability to engage me fully into your story and a lot of times, I forget altogether that I'm waiting for a punch line. But then you wrap up the story and I'm rotfl! And it is always, always, always worth the wait.

Extra bit of info that might be of interest to you: The term Incel was coined by a woman named Alana, and she also started the first incel forum (That was basicaly just a place where people who felt lonely could talk to each other). There's a good interview with her on the bbc website. There's something very tragic about that movement being started by a woman.

Women only started being awarded child custody in the 20th century. We act like the 1950s are traditional, just because ots the time our oldest living people remember, that everything pre-1950s was just like the 50s. It was a very specific time, some things were regressing and others were progressing. (We also base our understanding of the 1930s- 60s on media that was heavily censored at the time under Hayes, which is another story). There were literally maybe 3-5 decades when mothers were given preferential custody and if the father was rich or connected they weren't. The idea that this is some oppression of men is ridiculous.
