Yeah sure there were ZERO corporate interests when WARNER BROTHERS one of the oldest studios in hollywood assembled 6 of the biggest box office stars of the time with a hit director to remake a movie originally starring THE RAT PACK. Movie studios make movies to sell movies.

Now I’m gonna say something, which is my opinion but I wanna know what others think. He’s talking about an era where word of mouth was a major way to promote a movie. Now with releasing trailers online people are able to breakdown every single frame and make predictions. Right or wrong it puts an idea into peoples heads like “ohhh I hope they do that” or “I hope this theory is true.” Then when the film comes out and doesn’t do those things, the initial thought is underwhelming. Then they’re disappointed by a film that if it came out just 12 or 13 years prior it would’ve been a hit. Cuz we could only see trailers in theaters or on tv. Not on our phones like now. Then word of mouth isn’t the same really either bc many ppl pirate films or want streaming so they aren’t gonna go to the theater.
