I love that you are always assessing your space and seeing if you want to improve or just change something about. I also agree that it’s a great time of year to do this because once winter sets in that’s when I want to reap the benefits of all the hard work and go into hibernation mode! (Well, mothers can’t exactly go into full hibernation mode because we always have to take care of others but I definitely intend to slow down a little!) another lovely video from you Nikki; I’m always inspired by how careful you are in choosing your pieces and how you aren’t afraid to mix them up a bit. 🤗

To freshen antique furniture I like Big Mama’s Butta from Dixie Belle Paint. It is a soft wax that conditions the dry wood and leaves a nice scent of your choice. It hardens over time and you can paint over it after 72 hours if you like. I also like Minwax wipe on poly in satin to protect the wood and keep your aprons from absorbing odors or color from the wood. I love this new office arrangement.

Thank you Debra! Oh yes, I'm definitely thinking twice, it's growing on me. I don't feel I could duplicate that patina color painted into the details of the desk and the chippy worn look makes the space feel that much more enchanting.

My favorite color is baby pink. 6 yrs ago I bought my first house and I wanted grey all over b/c I knew I could change the colors easily anytime I wanted. I have all aqua since I moved in and change according to holidays. I ‘m not sure how long I’ve watched you maybe 2 yrs? But I have so fallen in love with my baby pink all over again. You inspired me to bring it and the shabby chic which I love back. Thank you!

You can have a key made. I have a vintage cabinet that locks and my husband took the glass door to a locksmith who made a set of keys for my birthday last year.

You have really spoken to me today with saying you don't need everything perfect at once because I have a desk that's been given to me for my office & I need to paint it & it's just been sat in the middle of my room unused until I have time to paint it! Good question, I went through a period of time where I threw just about all of them away asking myself why I keep them. Now I wish I wouldn't have done that....but at the same time I don't want to stockpile them. I don't have a good answer.
