On this episode we take a look at how you can view an play from Official iTunes and Beatport music charts without leaving Virtual DJ.

Am I correct that, once i subscribe and have an internet connection, those lists are imported. Then, days later, I can open VDJ, clicks and open a list and it's there, just not able to refresh it without a connection? Also, can you then, create a virtual folder name with the, say, month and year, select the whole list, and that will be there until I delete it, unchanged, even if I refresh the subscribed folder...sorta like a snapshot?

Correct the list will be available off line just not updated till you go back online. Yes you can make a "crate" or folder with the date and then drag and drop those songs into that folder. It will be a there until you delete the crate/folder but it will not update like the could list will. Keep in mind that list changes very little each week so having multiples of nearly the same thing wont help you sort through songs and what is new and hot right now. Hope that helped. I love the speech of the Cloud List, but from a legal point of view how is such a thing possible? that is, do I create my own Cloud List of MP3 and then share it with the whole world?

Great info but you have to have a license for PRO &19.95 plus Audio unlimited $9.99, $250 one time to set up your mixer

Sorry but that is not correct. You have several thing mixed together. VDJ is free to download and try but, advanced features (such as USB DJ controllers, DJ mixers, timecode, advanced video features etc) can only be used for 10 minutes at a time on the free version. If you want to use it for more than 10 minutes at a time (for DJing at an event) you can either pay $19 a month or a one time fee of $299. That gets you everything including ... use on any controller or DVS, all advanced features, all skins, all plugins and all updates in the future. The "Audio Unlimited" is just a audio streaming service like beatport or tidal you can add if you want. It is not required or needed to run VDJ. The subject i will love for you dj M.Joseph to speak on, would be virtual DJ record pool cache format. Why after you cancel your subscription, for example, saying you won’t need the service for the next 3 months. But later down you would like to auto mix those songs. you no longer can play downloaded songs from the pool. Smh You should be able to access those songs you downloaded while the account was active and if new songs needed then I subscribe but shouldn't affect the previous old one's.

It is all about music licensing.. access pools like that have to only allow access while you are a paying customer due to agreements with the record labels. They need to be paid each month or they will not allow access or the ability to use/play the songs they represent. It isn't a VDJ issue, it is a legal music issue. It's not like we bought the song when we are paying for monthly access to thousands of songs service.

Disc Jockey News is absolutely correct. It is not VDJ, it is a service you pay to use through VDJ. You have to think of it like renting a car vs owning a car. With the streaming services you are "renting the use" of the songs each month. As long as you make your monthly payment you can use them. It's not the old business model of downloading and owing forever. In my opinion this is just the beginning of the "music renting" story. Things will keep changing that is why I say use the streaming service as something to fall back on in an emergency, not you main goto for music. Every DJ should legally download and curate their own music library. Thanks for watching and God Bless.

Yes you can on both streaming songs and actual files on your laptop.

@@MrJFunkSanchez Correct but VDJ had the streaming function way before djay. They had (and still have) content unlimited that lets you chose to stream audio, video or karaoke tracks for a monthly fee. They even had Spotify for a while. Rumor Spotify may be coming back to VDJ and maybe other DJ software also. Time will tell.

Michael Since all gear practically works with VDJ, it makes sense to jump onboard. Been a Serato and Rekordbox user for a while.
