I'm glad that this movie is not forgotten. It's still popular because it was meant to be a good movie that can be enjoyed timelessly, just like Home Alone 1 and 2, Mrs. Doubtfire, Hook, Jumanji, and even Stuart Little. Matilda is one of the true staples of the 1990's.

Home Alone is still something I enjoy timelessly for sure. The first 2 Home Alone films are my all time favorite Christmas movies, the comedy never gets old.

Mara had the flu during this scene, in the garage , first day filming. Also, her mother died after filming. They dedicated this to her. I read Mara's book, where am I now ?

Fortunately Mara's Mother Suzie Wilson got to see the film before She died. And the film is dedicated to her. Also Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman took care of Mara on the set/during filming.

@@julkasteven8198 Yes , I know, I have the book also. So sad,is'nt it? Mara did a few more movies, after her mother's passing, but then it stopped being fun, she says. Also, interviewers were banned from asking her about her mother. A because of her age, and B that would of been way out of line.

Personally, I hate that stupid rule about not wearing your hat inside. Some people look better with a hat than without. And also, if it makes you feel more comfortable wearing a hat, why take it off?

Because back when there were a lot more rules about clothing it was a sign of respect to not wear one - wearing one inside the restaurant would've suggested the wearer disrespects the people there. And rules like that tend to stick at "fancy" places

This is so funny. First, Harry here was named Herb and had a successful car company and was well off. Then he found out he had a young half brother. Harry made the mistake of having him design a car in his company. He then went bankrupt and was poor. Now he is in this as Harry having another dealership but selling low quality shoddy cars at unfair prices. I guess you have to change in your passion to get by even though it's not good.

(Puts his hat on his head) Me: You’re welcome, Mr. Wormwood! Learn to be grateful for Matilda and listen to her for once in your lives. Or if not, you, your wife and your son can go to Hell. For being a neglectful family, always rejecting and verbally abusing Matilda. To be honest, I love that movie since I was a kid but I do not like the way that awful father even his wife, and son, and even Miss Trunchbull mistreating his daughter. Matilda does deserve to be with Miss Honey.
