Another great piece of PJB gear, and nice video, Phil!

When you initially turned it on , it sounded like a lot of 60 cycle hum from single coil pick ups that are not turned up to the same volume

Anyone viewing this that already is an owner of PJB equipment... If you have questions call them. They are a small customer focused company, that welcomes having you as a customer, and having a relationship with you... Take advantage of this, because it is a rarity for a company to want to be there for there customers... I have spoken to Steve n Mike, who both were great! This is another reason I'm a proud PJB (2 x Cab47) owner!

So every bass you slug into it, you have to make all these adjustments? They would laugh me off the stage if I took that much time. I think the "studio sound" is the problem for me. Live gigs are my income. I need quick set up and those ultra high treble frequencies do nothing through a theatre PA or outdoor festival etc.

It doesn't.PJB makes great sounding gear but for some reason the volume doesn't translate the true wattage in it's lower wattage stuff anyway.I own the Double 4 and bought a PB -100 powered extension cab to give me the volume to compete with other instruments but it was disappointing.I have small Peavey practice amps that are louder at a fraction of the price.The Double 4 is a great piece of kit however.

Hi! I have just recently bought two Cab 47s that I’m running off a Trace Elliott ELF and rehearsals sound great and I’m going to do the first gig this weekend with the rig. I’m hoping to add an Ear Box soon, but for the moment I’m happy with what I’m hearing. But I would like to understand what I can and can’t do with the ports on the cabinets, and possibly more importantly what should I do and when, and what should I never do. Basically (bassically?) I want to understand ports and room tuning, especially as it relates to the Cab 47

I have a Cab47 also, love it! Was thinking about adding a Cab 27 How do yo run 2 cabs from an Elf, which I think is 200w I ended up going w a Hartke TX 600 (400w @ 8ohms) because I thought that would give me headroom on the amp... Do you daisy chain the cabs or does the Elf have to speaker outs?

There is a vid by Phil out there about utilizing the floor n ports... Those ports really add a lot of dimension to the sound!
@sean---the-other-one
@sean---the-other-one Жыл бұрын
@@jonwallace9142 Each CAB-47 has an In and a Through Neutrik socket, so I run the ELF-200 (which has a TS6.35mm Out socket) into one CAB-47 then send out from that CAB-47’s Through socket into the next one’s In socket. Since the CAB-47s aren’t particularly big, what I’ve taken to doing is to putting the first one on the floor, putting the ELF on top connected by a short Jack to Neutrik speaker cable, then I run a longer cable from that first CAB-47 to the second one, which I put onto a guitar tilt stand and place that off somewhere that it aims up at my head. That gives me the clarity and articulation from the one aimed at my head, with some extra bottoms from the one that’s down at my feet. If I don’t do that, most of the sound is projecting into my legs.

I now own 2 cab47's... I did not go with a cab 27 because I spoke with PJB tech guy Steve... He was great, smart... Full of useful info to help me out... If you have questions, don't post them here, call PJB and ask Steve or Mike (to name a couple) They WANT to help you... Once you buy a PJB piece, that's when the relationship begins... Utilize that relationship with a small customer focused company!

Exactly thinking about doing with my second C47!! I just got the second C47, have it stacked behind the chair I sit in when practicing... Holy cow, .... I hear even more nuance with the cab close to my ear -- bleeding incredible!!!! So, absolutely I want one of these pointed up at me!!!

I guess I’ll just say this. These amps are portable and there is some nice tech built into the amp as far as some options beyond just having a practice amp, but don’t fault Phil for the lack of performance in the vids or sound issues. Makin videos isnt the best way to showcase a bass amp and every bass is different? I dunno I wanna like PJ gear more than I do which is to say, I miss my Hartke 4x10 and I don’t play coffee shops. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have a 410xl, which I bought in the early 90's... Loved it w 115xl and HA 7000 head... Heavy heavy heavy... So I got a Cab 47... At 37 lbs its not super light, but it is a very solid piece of equipment! Versus the 77lb 410! My back loves PJ!

Anyone know if this is loud enough to gig with a full band with?
@JLP59
@JLP59 11 күн бұрын
It's loud but the EQ knobs were all wrong for me to cut thru a loud drummer. I ran a 2-12 and a 2-10 on stage (Hartke) and I strained all night to hear myself. Volume was fine but cymbals and distorted guitar buries the highs. I think the frequency values are wrong for live playing, unless you're only slapping
