Reboots usually have different actors. It’s a fresh and new story line than the original. So there’s no point on bringing the og cast back for the new games.

⁠@@sararose137…uh yeah that’s all cool bro but imagine if after completing the campaign on one of the new MW games a scene comes on screen showing the original universe and our characters fates since the events of mw3 OG so long ago…now you tell me which one is gonna sell better and have more attention and eyes on it after something like that (IF it was ever possible or a slim possibility)

@@sararose137 I’m familiar with the concept of reboots, but once you have the best the rest are just a joke. Romans voice was cold as ice, made you really dislike AND really appreciate the character. The new Makarov is just a joke compared to Romans iteration

If there's anything about Makarov itself that's memorable, it'd not be his motivations and actions, but it would be his voice in my humble opinion (of course aside from the airport incident).

His voice and delivery really contributed a lot to the character. OG Makarov sounded so cold and calculated. He was a snake, slithering in the background, creating conflicts here and there for his own ambition. Roman did a great job portraying that aspect of him.

They dropped the ball so hard with the "Graves wasn't in the tank" and the "Makarov wasn"t in the helicopter" that they should kill fire with fire and make the new Makarov and impostor of the real Makarov like Perseus in Cold War, and make Roman return. Thats literally the only way we could have a good antagonist again

This is nice to see. Honestly, new Makarov is hard. I love him. But compared to the OG, he kind of feels like he stumbles where the OG was running. Performance wise the actor himself killed, but its the story where he loses it.

Yup! I figured something was missing with the new Makarov (no offense to that actor he did a good job with what he was provided) it’s that darkness. The old Makarov had a certain dark but very calculated demeanor to him, like you can tell he’s an observer and doesn’t like to mince words. Although the new one is as calculated and destructive, this one has a certain level of pride and arrogance and comes off a bit more as a typical B movie villain. Now those types of villains can be fun to watch when implemented correctly but coming from Roman’s Makarov, it’s a bit off putting to say the least.

I never was a Cod fan, but ended up playing the original MW series because my uncle who was a BIG CoD fan at the time gave me the games when they were new for each of my birthdays at the time. And to be honest, even the original MW series wasn’t all that great for me, with MW3 being the most underwhelming. I did sell the games later on, & I would have kept MW3 if only the game has a bad guys campaign. Vladimir Makarov was my favorite character, & I really wanted to see an ending where he wins.
