Hello guys! And with this video the topic about oil consumption in 1.3 MultiJet and others is completed, from theory to practice, here is how to actually carry out the procedure. So far, all the interventions I have made in this regard have been successful, having already carried out dozens. It is important to remove any excess oil before starting the engine and after warming it up thoroughly, replace the engine oil, in the case of 1.3 MultiJet, 5w40. The brand of oil is irrelevant. Always use an excellent oil filter and change every ten thousand km.

@@fishwagt1514 I am still in a process of finding out. Of course, I used it in engine oil and run it for 12 minutes. I also had an oil leak, which is now fixed. I will top up the oil to max today, and will chek the level in 1.000 km (about a month) and let you know.

Thank you for your videos, they are clear and practical. To avoid removing the injectors, would it be possible to clean through the spark plug holes? I have a consumption of 700ml in 1000kms in a 2.0 mjtd fiat ducato.

Thank you again for the info, especially for the smoke during dpf regen. Mine 1.3 does smoke a lot during regen. Had a leak on the injectors. Fixed it but they are going to be remanufactured next week because they seem to be damaged. They produced a loud ticking noise but it went away after a while, and a high fuel consumption. Also there is a small oil leak on my intercooler which could suggest a problem with the turbo and is really unfortunate.
@5Dale65
@5Dale65 Ай бұрын
It doesn't have to be a bad turbo. But if oil leaks out there it means your intercooler has a hole and the air also leaks out of there. Therefore the mass air flow sensor has a higher reading, it dumps more fuel than it should, creates soot and clogs your dpf faster. You must get rid of all the air leaks in the intake between turbo and manifold. Otherwise you could possibly still have a problem with your dpf and smoking, even after installing new or reman injectors.

Just to close this story out. Returned from the mechanic. The injectors are not for repairing, and are functioning ok. Turbo is ok. But the intercooler had a hole in it, and it was replaced and the system cleaned. In the end very fortunate

My old 1.9 jtd 115hp in a Stilo uses 500ml for every 10 thousand km. It has 275 thousand km on the odometer. I change oil every 10 thousand and use a 5W40 from Elf. Is it normal consumption?

@@5Dale65 Bruno has plenty of video for that engine. He said it is bullet proof! 500ml of oil in 10k km is way to normal. The only thing is, why you are using elf oil? That is for french cars, not italian!

👍Thanks for doing this video, Just what I needed for my issue and many others will benefit from it. I have some questions which others in the comment section might find useful if you don't mind answering please. 1. Should you not drain the oil straight away before running the engine? 2. Why use 5/40 oil not the recommend 5w/30? 3. Do you recommend to keep using 5w/40 permanently? Thanks in advance

If you run the engine with the brake fluid in the oil it will act like an engine flush itself. Just don't drive it and will be fine.

Hello there.Is there any possible way to clean the intake paths on cylinder head,without removing the intake or even the whole cylinder head?My engine is EGR off so it really should not have too much carbon deposits.
@5Dale65
@5Dale65 Ай бұрын
I tried it on a 1.9 jtd 8v 115hp and believe me it's very very hard to do, even with your intake manifold off. To completely clean the intake system with the passages in the head and intake valves as well, you have to take your head off the engine unfortunately. You can spray some fluids into the intake with the engine running, but then all the stuff it looses in the intake will go into the combustion chamber and that might not be good for your engine.

Hi! Need your help!!! I have an Alfa Romeo Mito 1.3 multijet 62KW/ 84HP engine code 199b4000. I need to replace the particulate filter (OEM 55230850). Will the particulate filter from the 1.3 multijet 70KW/ 95HP engine (OEM 55234961) fit my engine? And how good are the filters with Cordierit or is Siliciumcarbid better?
