In this video, Olav opens up about his long battle with Post-Finasteride Syndrome (PFS). He shares the challenges he has faced over the years, detailing the persistent side effects he has endured even after discontinuing the popular hair loss medication.
Post-Finasteride Syndrome is the current term for a rare syndrome characterized by devastating physical, neurological, and sexual side effects that persist and progress even after stopping finasteride. This condition occurs primarily in younger men who have taken the drug to treat hair loss, and there is currently no effective treatment available.
PFS has a disastrous impact on patients, their families, and their friends. It often leads to disability, isolation, and even suicide. Every person is valuable, and everyone deserves to make a fully informed choice about their health.
More research into Post-Finasteride Syndrome is desperately needed. Learn more about and support the newest scientific initiative here: www.pfsnetwork.org/science

Thank you so much for sharing your story, Olav. We know it’s not easy, but these types of actions will eventually lead us to full recognition of this disease and eventually a cure. We NEED to keep up this momentum and band together. If you’re a sufferer damaged by Finasteride, SSRIs, Accutane, etc., please consider sharing your story here. What is your agenda? You only show PFS which was not clinicaly observed. Are you trying to sue the pharma? Lets turn it around : the life before balding was awesome and after going bald your confidence, your lipido and your quality of life generally goes down hill. That is real unlike your paid actors here fantasising sbout PFS

Thank you for sharing your story, Olav. When I met Olav about five months ago, he had just discovered that he has Post-Finasteride Syndrome. This man spent 3.5 years checking all possible causes for his symptoms and only recently found out about PFS. He has been fighting for so long, and with this video, I am convinced he has saved a life by raising awareness with his testimony.

Hello Olav. I was chemically castrated from isotretinoin 10 years ago. I’m 31. I have a condition extremely similar to what you describe and I found out about PFS in 2019. I live on the westcoast of Norway (Sandnes). What part of the country are you in if you dont mind me asking? I can relate to most of the things you said in this video. No friends other than my family, living at home, no job since 2017, etc etc. Massive social anxiety (basically disabled socially), and cant even really walk normally. I can understand what you are going through. Sadly no one else (in my life) seem to be able to. And I am 100% with you on the doctor part. It’s just gaslighting and they saying it’s a psychiatric issue. Its not, and I’m not ever going down that route. Most things I’ve tried so far have failed making me better, but I’m still trying…. My mind’s going blank now so I’ll have to stop. I’m trying to stay of the internet/screens most of the time, and almost never comment, but I had to make this one. Take care man from a fellow norwegian.

Thanks for sharing this. Certain figures on YT and the internet act as if this is not truly a thing. I dont know anyone that would pretend and act like this is occurring. Its life changing. This is why I took the natty route and reversed my severe balding using simple tools and foods. I was able to restore over a decade of balding and now I help other men get their high school hair line back on my channel.

In the video, he mentioned having difficulty with word retrieval and formulating his thoughts. I believe he might have aphasia, a disorder that affects language due to damage in specific brain regions. Common causes include stroke, drugs, and dementia. Although Olov's case is subtle, it still significantly impacts his life by making it hard to express his thoughts and find the right words. Unfortunately, most people and doctors may dismiss his condition, saying "you seem fine," because they fail to recognize language impairment.

@@PostFinasterideSyndromeNorway sorry you're going through all of this as I have too. I though never would have gotten back on it because I felt the mental sides immediately and knew something was very off. More plates more dates pushes finasteride on young men he's a piece of dog crap and on so many drugs( legal and not legal ), and peptides etc. Hair Cafe is already showing mental health disturbances from finasteride he they are unavoidable. We're all in this together and all want to be repaired. The only thing I see that fixes us is gene editing and that is expensive and also dangerous but most of us like myself and yourself would take the risk because we want normalcy back. I have normalcy but not fully .

Downregulation of srd5a2 and PNMT and dysregulation of the androgen receptors (these are the main points of what has been discovered through studies). Downregulation of srd5a2 will result in decreased DHT and allopregnanolone (along all the other 5a reduced hormones) it's seems that androgens themselves have a positive feedback on srd5a1, so downregulated srd5a1 seems to be a product of the downregulated srd5a2. There may be more that we sont know yet, but these points seems to be the most central at the moment. God Bless you brother! In Jesus name

Many people that have PFS have testosterone levels that are within the normal range, if not on the higher end. This has nothing to do with low testosterone levels. If it were that simple, no one would be here.

I’m really not sure how this is poorly edited. This sufferer sent us this video and we consolidated it down to 15 minutes to hit the high points of what’s happening to him. Longer videos tend to get less views and it’s important that we get as many as possible to spread awareness, so there is strategy behind this. Also, keep in mind that we’re not professional editors. The two people running this channel are immensely sick themselves and struggling to get through each day, so we do our best to provide quality content despite battling our own suffering.
