This song is probably the best display of Plini's genius overall. It is so complete, so right. And gives away almost all his influences. Fantastic.

"Electric Sunrise" is a must in my opinion, although "Selenium Forest" is also hella smooth.

Plini is the modern Van Halen IMO. And the most humble and kind dude. Absolutely wonderful. Fun fact he actually went to school to be an architect. Probably why hes so good at “building” a song and album.

The synth arpeggiations you are talking about that start at 13:30 aren't actually a synth but a tapped part on the bass which you can see in Simon Groves playthrough of the song on KZfaq. Highly recommend the whole playthrough as it really shines a light on some really interesting details in the song. Loving all the reactions and your approach to the music!

This song and Pastures are probably my favorite songs by Plini.

This album was the soundtrack of my life in 2016 and 2017. I saw him live with Intervals and Animals As Leaders on that tour. I’ve never seen more guitar wizardry at one show haha. Great analysis my man🎸🤘

For all people stumbling upon his music. The songs that brought tears to my eyes were; Inhale, Pastures, Pan, Paper Moon. All of his music hits me emotionally in ways I've never had in other music but those songs I listed, are songs that can reduce me to tears. Beautiful music. Also check out Intervals - The Way Forward (album) if you want some upbeat happy prog with Plini on rhythm guitar.

Love the reaction. Plini is my favourite artist of all time and I listen to him every day and an yet to get sick if it. Another great band you could check out is Intervals...their song Fable is awesome and even has a sax solo!

Plini is and may very well always be one of my absolute very favorite artists to see live. Favorite show was probably a small gig he did for Strandberg at NAMM in the side stage of the House of Blues, where at the end of the set Electric Sunrise turned into a 15-minute, 4 guitarist solo medley with some of the special guests (including Per Nilsson of Meshuggah!!) that were out for the convention. Pure magic. Also the bassist that tours with Plini is an absolute monster and I wish he had more recognition.

I highly recommend listening to Who Bit The Moon by David Maxim Micic. I think it's a true masterpiece and i'd love to see your analysis.

One of the reasons why I love plini so much is because of his complex arrangements and usage of repeating motifs, even over MULTIPLE albums and eps. There’s something I’d call “The Plini Riff” (a 5 note riff, if you know it you know) that he’s used over all his music, and it’s just incredible how he’s established his sound so much as an instrumental guitarist.

This whole album is amazing to me, cascade is easily one of my favourite pieces of music, but I always lean toward "Handmade Cities" as my favourite Plini track and "Electric Sunrise" is just behind. They might be worth checking out if you haven't already. Plini - Kind is also absolutely masterful. His solo in "Pastures" is one of the greatest things to ever grace my ears.

Yes!! Cascade is my favourite Plini's piece. I am aware he has more advanced, intricate compositions but this one just has such a great energy and groove. It's also on my list of songs I use for testing whenever approaching new headphones/earphones. If you like instrumental/progressive stuff one of the bands you might enjoy could be Scale The Summit. Compositions of this band aren't that syncopated, more like clean/smooth melodies, but still kick ass! I have weakness for both The Collective and The Migration (albums), songs such as "Odyssey".

So many good Plini songs. Idk what to recommend because all of his work is so wonderful.

Before your first stop I love how the tight guitar "talks" while the airy backing makes it feel like it's inside of a vast space. Gotta love plini.

I've commented this before but I really want to see you review Jakob zyteki's latest record he released last year - nothing lasts, nothing lost. Its a masterpiece. He took polyphias pinch harmonic style to a whole new place, absolutey majestic. That and David maxim micics bilo 3, or eco, or who bit the moon. David is an absolute genius of composition. I have other suggestions, but these two are on my list of the two greatest composers I have had the priveledge of experiencing in my lifetime. Keep up the great work mate, love your videos!

Persefone is a really underrated band... I'd sugest to start with their instrumental "Consciousness part 1 & 2"

As a musician I love the way you deconstruct and explain things in a way that non musicians can understand! The toned arpeggios toward the end of the track are from the bass player Simon; he's a monster. Keep up the good work my man! Also, the melody at around 14:00 is a motif that's used in an earlier track on the album called Handmade Cities (the second track) at around the :38 second mark! Enjoy!

A killer arrangement across every instrument. Plini’s bass player (Simon Grove) is a beast, so good yet knows when to hold back. He is also Plini’s sound engineer on most, if not all of his recordings and gets such beautiful separation. Plini’s latest album ‘Impulse Voices’ is a sonic masterpiece, multi genre and Simon Grove has gone next level with the engineering and mix.

Intervals is another great band to check out with this same sort of prog/vibey style instrumental music. The main composer Aaron Marshall is also just an amazing musician and he has such a unique style. Him and Plini have toured together quite a bit and they are awesome people!

Plini is one of my fave modem players. Like a mix of Holdsworth and Petrucci. Two legends. He is amazing the way he LAYERS all his sounds to become a vast expansive sound. No fillers on his cds all great. Another amazing player to check out is Andy James. If you like Satriani and Petrucci think tha kind of mixture. Killer chops/speed. Full range tones and zero filler songs every one is fantastic or EPIC.

People say Plini is metal etc but honestly if you listen to his albums back to back the blues and jazz influences are so prominent I would argue it’s more so than the metal. The guy is a genius and I love his compositions. One of the best out there

Not something I'd have listened to myself, but still pretty cool! It always amazes me the talent some of these guitar players have, I don't know how they go so quickly and have such precision. On another note: I'd love if you did one of your teaching series videos on what sort of things you're listening for when you're hearing a track for the first time. You enlighten us into some of it, but I'd be curious to learn more depth into what your ear's trained to pick up on as a composer. (Also thanks for teaching us to be more active/better listeners to the songs we already love!)

Man, I usually don't leave comments on videos, but I'd love to see your analysis of David Maxim Micic's work. His music is very diverse, so it's hard to pick, but a few come to mind: 1. Smile - probably one of his most unique songs and one of very few to have vocals. I've never heard vocals quite like the ones featured in this song, but it gave me chills. 2. Devise - this song has an incredible build-up and solo. It's a strong way to end an album. 3. Nostalgia - this song features a large variety; it feels like multiple songs in one but follows the same context. 4. Who Bit The Moon - another great end to an album with tons of variety, superbly constructed. Though, honestly, his albums are organized as a very nice all-in-one sequence to experience.

Another instrumental guitarist to look into is Sithu Aye. Also very good at weaving motifs through their music. One of their albums, "Set Course for Andromeda", is kind of an instrumental concept album. An absolutely fantastic listen cover to cover. Edit: Gold Coast is super overrated man. If you're looking for some good surf you should come to Western Australia. Some of the best beaches and surf spots in the world (Margaret River is especially well regarded by surfers).

Comment mentioned the bass arpeggio, I think Geebz knows that is a bass and he even "air frets" and does "air bass" afterwards, What I think he's talking about is the subtle keyboard/midi background arpeggio'ish things happening after the bass along with some sort of synth pad. Helps to fill the space and make the ending feel BIGGER

Your channel has recently passed 6 million total views . If only 0,1% (one in a thousand) of those views had something hateful to comment/message about you, your videos or anything else, that would still be 6000 of those views. When you presence grows so will hateful messages and comments. You would not care if one in a thousand people on the street did not like you in real life, please do not put too much thought in to them. Just look at the comment section, people love these videos.
