With thanks to my friend 'The Touring' ( / thetouring , I drive both the 991.2 GT3 Touring and the new 992 GT3 back to back on the same road.
I have been obsessed with the 991.2 Touring ever since it came out and after driving it and filming it a few times, I thought it was the GT3 for me... until I experienced the 992 GT3 in Wales earlier this year. So now it's time to compare them and see which is better.

For me it's always going to be the 991.2 GT3 Touring if I'd ever get any 911. I just think it is distilled to perfection. Albeit the new one is probably objectively better. Two great cars, that's for sure!

I love the 992's, especially the Turbo. But the 991.2 GT3 Touring is the most beautiful 911 in existence.

991.2 touring for me. The 991.2 to me is just one of the best looking 911's ever. Bold statement, but i honestly think so. I'm looking to get a 991.2 touring myself within the next 4 years.

I have agree on that. While the 992 GT3 is a great car if you can find one, however the 991.2 GT3 looks way better and in the years to come it will prove to be more valuable than the 992. Mark my word.

Alexandre why ? Sam already knows he (weirdly) prefers the looks of the Touring over a regular GT3 And as the Touring drives identically to a regular GT3, all he needs to do is drive a pair of manual gt3 991.2 and 992 Plus it'd be much easier to setup as Tourings are a lot rarer and thus ore difficult to locate for a test

@@bentleygucci I disagree. At the moment it looks like that the 992.1 touring will be the last touring without a hybrid system. The 991.2T looks better, but the 992T is the ultimate driving Maschine. I think they both will be very expensive in the future. And there will be less 992T than 991.2T, because Porsche can just sell them for 2 years because of the new EU regulations 2024

I have to say your videos are absolutely on point! By far my favourite KZfaqr and it just proves it’s not about having the newest and best cars out there! It’s all about commitment and how you connect with cars. I’ve been watching you since you had your TTS and I’ve taken so much from your journey. To the point now that I actually have an Audi TT 3.2 V6 MK2 plus me and a friend are travelling through Europe in June to finish our journey in Monaco!!! Its the 991.2 touring for me all day long. Its the high water mark for a road 911 the 992 just over cooks the pudding. The looks alone are pure,balanced and elegant, I prefer the analogue rather than tesla dash as well. Simply the 997 4.0, 911R and the 991 touring are the ultimate road biased 911,s.

Another beautifully produced video. Excellent opening sequence and nice mix of shots throughout. As for the cars, what is immediately obvious is that your smiles are noticeably bigger in any Porsche than in the Jaguar and the biggest of all in the 991.2. But get a UK RHD version.

Both beautiful. For me, I'd buy the 'older' one with the manual. Manual, no wing, older style front and rear and the interior all appeal more to me. I also sense that while the new 911's just approach perfection, they get less interesting for anything other than track use.

As much as I appreciate the level of sophistication the 992 GT3 apparently has reached in terms of sheer tack performance, the 991.2 maybe the slower, yet more engaging desirable "connaisseur" car. It's a little like pushing a vintage track tool car e.g. a 325i e30 around the Nürburgring.: utmost fun, still south of kamikaze lethal speed... My pick? Definitely the 991.2 Touring, but please in that UNDERBERG GREEN. What a gorgeous colour! ❤

That 991.2 GT3 is just the dream, that is my favourite Porsche, but the one with the rear wing. I don’t know why people are hyping a 911 GT3 that could fly under the radar and be mistaken for a Carrera S to the casual Porsche lover. Okay, it’s a bit more road-oriented and more comfy for everyday use, but that’s what the GTS is for. Have a fiddle with the exhaust on a GTS and it can sound as good as a GT3.

991.2 GT3 Touring. Without a doubt. Honestly, it's mainly cause of the styling of it (although I prefer the 992 interior since it's so early 911s style), but I'd still go for that one.

Amazing video Sam! For now I much prefer the 991.2 touring specially the @oakgreenmetallic's one. I have to admit that also the green touring posted by Andreas preuninger looks incredible, but I'd go for 991 touring for the roads and 992 gt3 for trackdays. Maybe when 992 touring will start delivering I'll change my mind but for now 991 wins🔥

Sam I love the energy. Yes you need another Porsche in your life. I'm old, so manual just isn't for me anymore. PDK is where I'd go! But the Touring is the one for me. I'm not a big wing person. The old GT3 with the small wings, 4.0L engines....That's the one for me!

The 991.2 for the win!! Had a 991.2 GTS and I miss it. The 992 is good but there is something about the 991.2. Got a 488 Spider and to add a 991.2 Touring to the garage would be a dream!!!!

Easier said than done but would be ideal to do more of an apples to apples comparison. Both Tourings, both manuals, both stock exhausts. The bespoke exhaust and manual trans on the 991.2 on those types of roads is a massive advantage in the fun category. Great video!
