I never joined the Corps but, I'll never forget the ten days I spent at Camp Pendleton way back in 1965 . The sound of corporal Boyd counting cadence, as he marched us from the mess hall was beautiful. Some fine shooting with those two old dog rifles !

Loved the video! This is the first time I came across your channel. Also love my Win 52s. Have an 1936 original, a 52C and a 52D. 52C has a Shilen stainless match barrel and 32x Bushnell. Heaviest rifle I own! My brother and I were shooting wasps and bees at 100 yards. Everyone told us we were lying!

It was fun to watch your video. I have a Winchester Model 75 Target with Olympic sights. It has a 5 round magazine, but can be shot single, one at a time. Made in 1942. It likes Eley the most, followed by Winchester Target T22 in the silver box almost as well. It's less expensive than Eley, but the Winchester ammo's been discontinued. I love those tiny groups the 75 makes. Just line the two circles up. The only time you miss is when you sneeze! P.S. Thanks for the info on the Kimber being a "training" rifle, as opposed to a "target" rifle. I learned something new!

I been trying to hone my rimfire skills for 50+ years and I have came to the conclusion, barring a complete worn out rifle, that they all will shoot. He just proved in this video that the Winchester likes Tenex. I am sure the Kimber likes something else. I am still as dull as a butter knife and will never quit learning about the lil .22 lr.

Gidday - Hey congrats on the 12K - deserved! Your channel has really inspired me and I recently completed a challenge I'd been trying for since 2015 - shoot 5 groups of 5 shots at 50 yards with ALL groups under 0.5". My range is 47M (51.3 yards) and my average for the 5 groups was 0.293 - this with a Lithgow LA101, Sightron S111 3.5-10 on top, and Eley Match ammo. The challenge has learnt me heaps about rifles (at least 5 of them before the Lithgow), ammo, and shooting technique. So now I'm going to move onto some of your challenges! One thing that I noticed about your shooting in this video - you "walked" the Kimber's groups round the bull. If you didn't make any off camera scope adjustments this may indicate your hold has some small inconsistencies. I often do this - it takes a lot to eliminate! Maybe you have some tension in your right hand? All the best!

Devil the 82 was never intended as a match rifle. The fact it shoots as goof as it does is a tribute to old Kimber's manufacturing and your shooting skills. @@Dayattherange Wow, that's even sweeter than I thought. I don't have the tools or the woodworking talent to try to make my own custom, so I'll just have to continue working on refinishing the original walnut stock. It's a little beat up, my dad got that Winchester 52D from the shooting club where I took my NRA marksmanship training back in 1974. Even though he raised me shooting, it's one of the rifles I learned formal marksmanship with. The Marine Corps just polished up an already trained marksman.

Brian Tenex doesn't shoot great in everything. This is what makes 22lr so much fun to me. A friend of mine with a 52D his shoots this same ammo at best 1.2in at 50 yards. But CCI pistol match on the other hand shoots .2's and .3's all day long no matter the lot#

The 82g will shoot much better than that. I can personally attest to this. I don't have much range time with the 52d. I feel the barrels are too light for my personal preference. I'm really surprised both guns didn't shoot bettet at that distance with tenex. Still a great video though

Many that shoot NRA prone, especially those shooting Anschutz rifles will take several shots on the berm before even shooting their sighter targets. Lubes up the bore and warms it to operating temps. My Winchester 52D shoots the first 2 shots a bit low, and by the 3rd shot it is ready to go.
