Nice to see a 52D, I acquired a 52D Olympic built in the 60's with the thumb hole stock all accessories, Lyman sights, Kenyon trigger many years back along with an Anshultz 54. The 52D is defensibly the safe-queen. Thank you for all the great videos.

I have a H&R 12 bought from the CMP store in 2012. Paid $225 for it. The rifle was unfired. It is basically a copy of the 52. I drilled and tapped the receiver for Weaver bases. It loves SK Long Range and SK Biathlon Sport.

Doesn`t get any better than this. Wife at the range, that`s next to unheard of. Your a lucky man. Be grateful, most men would be in their glory if they could just get their wives to the range, let alone, shoot. Sure would be great to see your wife shoot alot more, she did absolutely AWESOME!!! My wife LOVES to shoot at the range with me. And some days she whoop`s my butt!!!

The Winchester 52D is a lot like the Smith and Wesson 52 - so far, unmatched. Okay, not really, but close.

Nice shooting by both of you. Can I suggest that you find a BSA Martini International Mk 5 and have a go with that.

You Sir are an unbelievable shooter. I wonder how much better you could shoot if you stopped placing your thumb over the neck of the rifle and holding it parallel to the stock enabling ALL of your hand muscle effort to concentrate on the trigger itself~! Just a thought, but it might improve your already incredible shooting ability~! I envy that ability~!

First off, Love your videos!.......I almost had a seizure looking at that close-up of the chamber. It appeared to be a combination of wax, oil, carbon, sand and something scraped off a meteor. Please, I am too old to be having that level of anxiety. :-D

When I went to high school, we had a rifle team, an indoor range and about a half dozen 52Ds.

You got a good woman there. Now I know how you can hang out at the range all day and make videos....Beautiful wife, beautiful rifle, beautiful life.

I have a 52B with bull barrel. It prefers Eley Club.. It wears a 12 power Leupold with a Siebert conversion to 24 power. I'm old benchrest competitor.

I have and shoot a 581s. Agulra 40gn RN the best off the shelf bulk. CCI Select strong #2.

More accurate shot groups would probably be achieved using the more expensive Eley TenX, Lapua Center X(which i use), or Lapua Midas Plus in this match grade rifle.

constructive criticism, don't dump the ammo on the bench top, it is lubed and picks up dirt plus it slightly deforms the bullet allowing more contact with the wind adds drift

Lithgow barrel probally already "sand lapped". It shot well in the past and now does not with all other variables the same.

I have the 52D and I use Federal Premium ammo. Ely never shot good. My 52 would using that ammo is almost hole through hole at 50 yards. I shoot BR50-50 with it.

Rifle has to much play. Take advantage of the rest tension screws. Add some slick tape to plate and rear portion of stock. You can reduce all that play by changing the method you open your bolt, put thumb on top of scope and with the other finger just lift up bolt, rifle stays in place. Rifle should return to battery at almost the same POI. Play with the recoil even thou it's a 22lr. Try free recoil.

Still the King!! At the mercy of the Queen! Lol

LIke you vids, but please quit dumping your ammo on the bench and then feeding the ammo in these great rifles. This premium ammo is coated with lube that picks up all manner of grit especially off of concrete bench tops. You are "sand lapping" your barrel with every shot and will eventually destroy the rifling. The premium ammo is packaged to keep grit and debris out of the lube or you can purchase ammo racks from ebay that raise every other row of ammo to make it more easy to access.

That gun doesn’t like that ammo that would’ve shot a lot better

You need to get your hands on a Remington 541 S, Mine will shoot better groups than that Winchester.
