That was great, what a surprise! My own Raven, pit, acts pretty much exactly the same. She tries to grap the bike by the tire to shake it, and sits there barking at the exhaust.

Wonderful 😎 My Farther used to tell me “when you buy second hand son your buying another mans problems” and looking back at most of my motorised problems, he was right 😉 Spare points, condenser, and spark plugs. Under the seat or in the boot along with a pair of gloves due to Sod’s law you were always clean when you left the house. Hahah Looking forward to the build and the spring and girder front end sounds great. Thanks.

The smile on your face when that started so easy, brilliant. I remember back in the early 80's when electronic ignitions were a new thing & good when they worked but reliability was an issue I would carry a set of points to put back in if the ignition unit failed. Got me back home more than once.

Started first kick. Brilliant! You deserve a nice surprise. And just add my two pennyworth, Girder front end would look very nice but electronic ignition and modern electrics would hardly be seen and would give so much more reliability and not detract from the "vintage look".

Lovely to see you smile mate. Some things just want to work. I get a good vib about this bike and I was going to suggest your idea for the front forks as I have seen them on an Enfield they look superb. So pleased for you I cannot wait for the build series of videos. It's a massive thumbs up from me oh! i have the same problem sleeping when I get things running through my head too.

Good to see the bike started up. I’ve got Wassell carbs on my old Triumph T100t. The original Amal’s were knackered when I rebuilt it so tried the Wassell’s and I’ve been impressed with them. Loving the springer front end, always loved the look of them but never ridden one. The future is the past!

excellent, your smile when it was running was brilliant, a head full of odeas and a lcck of ability to sleep is all part of anxiety and depression, pretty common for us that suffer them, head is filling itself with good stuff to distract from the gloomy stuff, getting up and doing something is the best way to deal with it, and liking the sound of the plans for the bike, a springer front end will be cool as, and as for Wassel, believe they are part of ther Frank Thomas group (same one that does boots, leathers etc) and have licences to produce numerous different parts for classic bikes so guess Amal carbs are one of those items

Hey Craig, saw your Facebook post, and I've been waiting for this video! The fly from the 17:00 mark should have stuck around to see the show... Was thinking that a girder would look really good on one of these bikes when I first saw one of your videos - GO FOR IT!!! BTW, I subscribe to the theory that any used carb I buy is bought with the hopes that it is a rebuildable core...
