So guys. I guess old town is very understaffed due to all this covid stuff. Which is very understandable. I can help everyone. The size hardware you will need to make it work properly on any Helix model humming bird standard transducer is two 5m x 16mm stainless steel bolts and matching self locking nuts. This mounts it to the old town adapter plate perfectly and installs well. Hope this helps.

Great video! I put my sonar in without a hassle on my Auto Pilot 120. Only difference is my Transducer will be sitting down in the hull behind my seat on the left side. Made a well for it so I'll never have to worry about damaging the transducer. Battery will sit up front in the dry hatch.

As I just got mine this week - I'd like to make one suggestion so far. In the 3-fold 'manual' provided, it would be helpful to link to a page with all these videos and any made by others on how certain things work. I get it's designed to be easy, but knowing a bit before touching this beautiful boat would be helpful. I bought a kerosene heater for the garage and it came with a 20 page manual for - light wick, don't leave unattended. Just saying ;)

I am installing the Helix 7 Mega SI on the 106 MK. The bolt sizes in the description are not working for me. Is there a video or instructions on attaching the mount in the first step? I can't see or find the proper screw sizes. Are you using locknuts on the back end or just hex nuts?

How do I install a helix 9 on an autopilot? It came with a metal transducer bracket that hangs too low and would cause damage to transducer if installed with it. Called customer support and they don’t offer a “universal transducer mount” just a transducer plate

I have a Sportsman 120 PDL, which has become an incredible fishing machine for me in the weeks since I took delivery of it. I recently purchased a Lowrance Hook5 Reveal with Split Shot transducer. I'm assuming that the install instructions will be identical, which is great. However, I'm not seeing any of the pre-drilled holes in the 120 PDL Sportsman. Please advise if you have any guides on how to drill, what I need to do so I can make sure that the hull stays watertight, what kits I need, etc. I also don't want to void my lifetime warranty on the product, so let me know how not to void it. Thank you.

I have a Helix 5 DI G2 from Humminbird and a Sportsman PDL 106. My transducer - when initially installed - sat 1/4 below the hull. I thought it would compromise the transducer (putting it in a position to get broken while car-topping and transporting), so I tried flipping the universal mount upside down and re-installing the transducer. Now it the transducer sits tucked into the hull about an inch or so and I can't get it level with the rubber insert that we are supposed to install. When I take the insert out, I can get it close to level. Should I be looking for other ways to mount (other than using universal mount) or do I need to consider a different transducer? Or are one of these installations I've described how it should actually be set up. I thought that with the close relationship between Old Town and Humminbird - that this would be an easy install. I just want to install properly before I get this back out on the water.

Okay I have a lowrance Hook 7 went to go hook it up and the red and blue connectors don't even fit through the hole so now what do you recommend your hull fittings are not big enough do you make larger ones to replace them if not what do you recommend I'm stuck I'm not buying a new fish finder there's nothing wrong with mine Thank you

0:50 "included transducer mount" Is that included with the fishfinder? What would I use for the Garmin Striker 4 transducer? It doesnt seem to have come with anything that lines up with that plate.

Also guys the inserts pictured here. They are not the ones in the boat. You must get them out of the box old town has provided. Also the gaskets on the boat under the inserts are absolutely paper thin and tear way to easily. I am waiting to see if I can use silicone or some other proper type of sealer to make it completely water proof.

Are those pre-drilled holes on the Sportman’s PDL 120 as well? The answer is no and that is really silly. You should have done same with all your high end kayaks.

The transducer cables for my Elite 5 HDI are way to big to fit through the pre-drilled holes even after shaving down the ribs on the retention nut. Are the connectors on hummingbirds stuff really that much smaller? Definitely don't want to make the holes bigger. Pretty frustrating.

Do you need lock nuts or lock washers? I don't understand using lock nuts.

I have an HDS 9 touch with the Total scan transducer which is 11 inches long and cannot find anything on mounting this before I get the boat. Any ideas guys? I wanna order it all before I pick up the boat. Anything helps.

I don’t understand how to run transducer wire through the caps that is on the Old town MK my transducer plug does not even fit through the cap . The factory caps are different it does not have a place to run the wire through the cap. And I do not want to cut the transducer wire to run it through.

So I have to spend $2500 or more to get pre drilled holes for fish finder wiring? Sucks to see this after I just spent $900 on a standard 106 model. That's a serious chunk of change to spend on a hobby, and now I've still got to risk part of my warranty by drilling into it myself. For the money I really think all of your fishing kayaks should have this available as an option, considering NO ONE spends what your kayaks cost without the intention of installing electronics. You would probably be the only ones on the market to offer that if they did, just saying.
