An unspecified amount of time after the events of Spyro 2, a mysterious cloaked girl invades the Dragon Realm with an army of rhynocs, stealing the dragon eggs. *READ ME BEFORE YOU COMMENT ABOUT WHAT MY DUMBASS SAID ABOUT SPARX NOT PICKING UP GEMS* Whelp as someone pointed out to me regarding the whole gems not picking up thing around 7:20, the reason that happens is because Sparx isn't around and Sparx is the one who picks them up. I'm a complete bozo for never noticing that so please disregard all the hogwash that comes out of my mouth regarding that. I would use KZfaq's editor to cut that bit out but it would disrupt the flow of the video since I try to segue everything together. Anyways fellas you know the drill - leave a comment to be featured at the beginning of the next video! I had an absolute blast putting this one together, and I hope you have an even better time watching it! Thank you once again for your time and support! 🤠

That's not a glitch. Sparx is the one that takes the gems, if he's not there, you have to touch the gems to collect them.

Consider that the game was released in 2000 for the PS1, it was very ambitious compared to the other ones. I liked the variety they introduced as well as the new characters, and the maps were so big, possible the biggest and detailed maps in a PS1 game. I like the most in the trilogy, is not a bad game by any means. I can respect your preference, but we have to admit that it lived to its predecesors

That's fair! I can totally respect the ambition, unfortunately I think Spyro 2 hit such a high for me (it is one of my favorite games of all time after all), it was gonna be really hard for Spyro 3 to top and unfortunately aspects of what I loved so much in 2 were missing here. Considering it's been over a year since I made this review I'll be the first to admit that yeah, I probably was a bit too harsh on Spyro 3, especially with recency bias at the time, but regardless, even if it's not a bad game, it's definitely good enough overall, it still stands as Spyro 2's inferior in my opinion. I'm glad you got more enjoyment out of it though!

I just can't imagine how long these take to make! Although it's not something I'm directly interested in, I'm sure there are others that are, and I can definitely appreciate the editing! It's the best I've ever seen from you to date!

I'm glad you think so! It's all about just pushing yourself and trying to make each video better than the last, and I poured everything I had into this one. They're incredibly time consuming to produce but I love every second of making them. Thanks for your support once again! 🤠

7:20 The gems don't gravitate toward you, Sparx picks them up. When you're on your last hit Sparx is gone so he can't pick them up. It's not a glitch, why did you make a huge issue out of nothing? For comedy?

I have mixed views of Spyro 3. I like the gameplay and I like playing as all the other heroes. The challenges were a mixed bag some were fun while a lot were either bad or just ok. The bit with seeing Moneybags get beaten by the heroes was pretty funny and getting the chance for Spyro to beat Moneybags and get all the gems was very satisfying. The Sorceress is a mixed bag of a villain. I like her design, voice, and her plan for the baby dragons was pretty evil. However there's no real banter between her and Spyro not even a exchange for the boss battle. Her boss fight was also very weak and really not fun.

Most of the Spyro 3 Playable Characters return as a Playable Characters( Bentley isn't playable but he makes a Cameo in Spyro Attack of the Rhynocs) in The Gba Games Spyro 2 Season of Flame and Spyro Attack of the Rhynocs.

Found you from your half life videos lol, never expected to find two vastly different parts of my childhood on the same channel LMFAO. Ngl your thoughts on Spyro 3 were in particular really interesting to hear, since most reviews I've seen think Spyro 3 is the best one! You made a lot of good points in all of your reviews, especially about the lack of unique world cutscenes in Spyro 3. I honestly hadn't thought about that being part of why Spyro 3 felt so flat outside of the main storyline. I will fight you and everyone on Spyro 1 boss fights though lol. The bosses themselves were easy, but I always found it a really unique idea to make the level itself and health management part of a boss fight? Even if it didn't work, it scared the shit out of me as a kid lol and much of what I remembered of Spyro growing up was conquering a fear of Spyro 1 boss levels.

I feel like the writing continues to get better as these go on. I'm really excited for the Sly Cooper review because that's a game I've never played or really seen. So I'm excited to see it through your experience. Keep up the good work bud ❤

And I've been there before to man, as recent as last week but the trick is to not give in and just have high Hope's and eventually you'll see light at the end of that tunnel.

I've admitted that Spyro 3 has the better woven story. My main issue with it is that Spyro and the Sorceress share no interactions when this story should be much more personal than the last considering what's at stake. Yet somehow Ripto, a villain who doesn't have much substance beyond his snarky attitude, had more of a connection with him. As for backtracking and level design, honestly I don't really mind it. In my opinion I find that stuff actually quite fun and makes the world feel more interconnected, but again that's an opinion, which is clearly a concept you don't grasp. While Spyro 3 does have more creative and diverse minigames, half of them, in my opinion, control like dog shit. So there's that. And finally for the sound engineering, there weren't any problems I personally found with Spyro 2 that were extreme. Maybe you did. I *respect* your opinion. Start learning a thing or two about respecting others opinions and go do something productive with all that game design knowledge rather than ridiculing people.

The gems don't come right to you just because you're near them .. That only happens when you have Sparx but if you lose all of your health you have to get the gems on your own until you get the butterfly .. Not a glitch ...

Really sloppy how they made you rely on vehicles to fight the Sorceress when your a literal fucking dragon, it's ugly for a dragon to use vehicles especially to fight when they can already burn the shit out you. Just make him use superflame to fight the Sorceress it's simple. There's no point in feeling like a dragon if you have to rely on man made materials.

The game is boring when i replay it... I hate that the thieves disappears when i catch them and never get the chance to chase them again when i replay the levels, unlike spyro 1, they don't disappear, also the skateboarding racing disappears when i win and can't replay the racing, i was so disappointed

This is definitely my LEAST favorite game in the original Spyro trilogy AND Reignited, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like it. It IS a good game. My problems mostly lye with having to play as Sgt. Byrd and Agent 9, who I REALLY don’t like. And who could forget those god awful Sparx levels? Also, the Sorcerous is a very bland villain and she’s not even the least bit interesting...just like Elora from Ripto’s Rage. But again, this games not all bad. Some things I like are the skateboarding mini games, the introductions of Shiela, Bentley, Bianca, and a few of the other mini games. Another thing I like is that Elora is excluded from a majority of it (aside from 1 cut scene). I never liked Elora because I always found her to be a bland and uninteresting character. I don’t understand her popularity. My FAVORITE part of this game is getting sweet revenge on Moneybags and getting all my gems back from him in the process. He’s my LEAST favorite character of all time and I can’t stand the guy. I DON’T love to hate him like other people do, I just straight up don’t like him.

Yeah you pretty much nailed it, it's definitely not a *bad* game but while it does some great stuff I think there's too much going on that drags it down for me to consider it better than Spyro 2 or even 1.

Agent 9 had Better Gameplay in Spyro 2 Season of Flame than in Spyro 3.
