Bless you! I couldn't get the belt installed into my old dryer using the methods recommended for newer dryers. After wasting 2 days trying, I grew frustrated, I finally stumbled upon your video and I got the job done in 10 minutes.

some suggestions when replacing the belt from the front of the dryer. 1. take a screenshot of the belt pulley diagram. then paste it in mspaint and flip the picture horizonally (mirror image). This way you can visual/see how to thread the belt from the front of the dryer. take a photo on your phone and place the phone in the dryer drum so you can easily look at it while your hands are feeling around for the belt, motor and pully. 2. place the belt in the valley/groove of the drum. this is not the correct location but it will make threading the belt and pulling the spring back much eaiser. Once the belt is rapped around the motor and pulley then slowing turn the drum by hand and the belt will automaticly relocate to the correct location on the drum. These two additional items make replacing the belt more eaiser.

Thank you thank you! I took off the front, looped belt around, put front/ not door, back- opened back panel and strung belt thru. Thanks again.

Mine had the belt break so didn't know the exact way the diagram was supposed to be and these are old driers. Other driers i've done belt faced down but spent a hour fussing with the thing as belt was too long and even thought I had the wrong part. Then saw here the belt goes upside down on the drum and around the idler. After that it took 2 whole seconds to get it on and going.
