@@hanspennyloaf335 I would put that down to the fact that they’ve just killed the new Captain America’s sidekick. If you think about it, to them that would almost be the equivalent of killing an Avenger, who are probably seen as being untouchable. So I kinda get why they stopped and were shocked by it. Also, they seemed to be developing her character to question her own actions throughout the episode after talking to Sam. Maybe actually killing a guy who was just doing his job will push her towards turning good at the end?

Tbf, I don't think she meant to kill Hoskins. I think she just didn't realise how strong she was and that he was just a normal dude. She looked pretty shocked at what she did. @@WillyV089 I know. I'm just trying to see it from her perspective. I obviously can't say from experience, but I think killing people with a bomb and seeing yourself killing a person would feel different. Maybe she didn't realise how horrific what she did was until she saw the aftermath of killing a person. That or it's just inconsistent character writing. Would have made more sense to not have her blow up the building if they want the viewers to have some empathy for her. And maybe she also looks shocked because she saw what cap could do to her - she's not the most powerful in the fight anymore. I over-analyse everything, I'm sorry 😅

I love how that shield has shown the evolution of the mcu. The Captain America trilogy boxset is a picture of his shield from all 3 movies, first one shiny and brand new in Phase 1, 2nd one dusty from an explosion because CA:WS was when the mcu was shown to be capable of being far more serious and gritty, then the 3rd one with Black Panther's claw marks on it showing that the mcu was becoming so much bigger and there were far more powerful characters being introduced. Now this shield's imagery with a blood stain on it, just showing how things are very different in Phase 4 and how this show in particular is also tackling real world issues in a lot of ways.

I think the whole show up to this point (hopefully) has been a slow burn It took 4 episodes to get to "John Walker is a bad Captain America." There's a lot of extra plotlines and scenes that can be removed or trimmed down. Sam and the boat. Madripoor and the lady from could have definitely been trimmed or removed. the dance scene. Donya Madani. Many of the Flag Smasher scenes. Of course, the next two episodes may show that those scenes are pivotal, but as of rn, they feel irrelevant or unecessarily long.

@@TiniestKelp all of those scenes but the dancing scene were important for character motivation or plot. And the dancing scene has become iconic regardless. Sam and the boat was actually my favourite thing about the first episode besides that epic aerial action scene. We've never seem Sam's personal life before, and introducing his financial struggles and his sister is very important to his motivations.

It’s a bit of a running joke combining a popular fan casting of John Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic, and the inclusion of Randall Park as Agent Woo in “Ant-Man & The Wasp” and “WandaVision”. In a popular opening scene of “The Office” (US version) Park pretends to be Krasinski’s character (Jim) to prank the character of Dwight (Rainn Wilson). So one time Mr. Sunday Movies included a big red circle around a picture of Krasinski in the thumbnail of a “WandaVision” review to reference this. And everyone was convinced that Mephisto would make an appearance in that show, so the two theories/jokes combined.

He is a very complex character, played excellently by Wyatt Russell. Is he bad? Did the serum turn him worse? I honestly just think the man is in a frustratingly impossible situation. Trying to live up to the image everyone expects, not being super powered and trying to regulate super beings. I honestly think the man came from a position of wanting to do good. If he has one flaw, I think he has too much pride in himself. I think he puts his image before everything else. And obviously, he has a bit of an impulse control issue LOL. But I think the series has done a fantastic job showing the almost impossible situation he was thrust into. So part of you hates the man, but another part definitely feels for him. Lol, yes. The Thor and Daryl short by Taika Waititi. But that's not canon. It shows that Bruce Banner was on Earth and knew about civil war.

I feel like the decapitation was kinda just implied like, Revenge of the Sith gets a PG 13 for a very direct but bloodless decapitation and I feel like marvle tried to push the TV-14 rating with a more of a 'you can figure out where the shields landing' approach.

What the shield represented is literally now tainted with blood. It’s up to Sam to restore what it really symbolises.

I like how it's ambiguous for now if John took the serum before he asked Lamar if he reckons he's a worthy candidate for the serum.

I think he was still mulling it over at that point. What it's not clear to me if he took it prior to entering that building or when he saw Lemar being taken.
