Wow that was Her! Wow!!! Thanks! Watching that video next. Did you see the skirts covering the knees. I remember back then one time, my sister was sent home from school for showing her knees. It was considered taboo. It was like in the western days, women didn't show even their ankles. Poeple have lost the meaning of modesty.

Ronnie Spector and the Ronnettes were part of Phil Spector’s incredible “wall of sound” producing style. Sadly he kind of lost his marbles and ended up committing murder. He was notorious for waving a gun around when he wasn’t getting his way. Ronnie (who was married to Phil for many years) ended up leaving their home with the clothes on her back and that’s all she took from their time together. Thankfully she escaped with her life.

Yeah, absolutely, it's what you say about Phil Spector (it's truly awful to see his last incarceration photos before he died at 81 in January 2021), but, if nothing else, he produced the very wonderful 'A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector' that featured The Ronettes.

Lead vocalist Ronnie (Veronica) Bennett vocals, the "whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh", is a blend of two of the most successful singers of that era, Connie Francis and Brenda Lee. These ladies never wore wigs. "Be My Baby" was released in August 1963. In 1961, The Ronettes, the New York City girl group made up of Veronica (Ronnie) Bennett, her sister Estelle Bennett, and their cousin Nedra Talley. By 1963, the trio caught the attention of producer Phil Spector, and moved to his Philles Records, expanding their sound with his famous “Wall of Sound” production technique. “Be My Baby” was recorded at Gold Star Studios in Hollywood, California on July 5, 1963 and released in August, 1963. They released only one studio album and broke up in 1967. The Bennetts' mother was a Black American and their father was Irish-American. Their cousin, NedraTalley, is Black American and Puerto Rican. In America during the time they were popular, they were a "Negro group". There was no social media so most white people didn't realize this. The group never denied their Black heritage, in fact they graced the cover of Ebony Magazine, the most important monthly magazine for Black people throughout the USA.

These people really know how to judge a song the female she’s been brought up right!!! Basically she said you don’t have to look all trashy and act all trashy to make a record sound good. The Ronettes did it with class!!!! The Ronettes of course is one of my favorite groups from the 60s her voice, the group is timeless…. Keep doing what you’re doing it’s always good to see the reaction of people when they hear a song for the first time. You can tell these two really are deep in music from all different genres. Ronnie Spector, once married to famed record producer Phil Spector actually had a monster hit in the early '60s called "Be My Baby" with such a haunting melody that became timeless. Eddie Money got the idea to ask Ronnie to actually sing the famous line on his record "Take Me Home Tonight" and Ronnie sang her famous line "Be My Little Baby" and appeared in his video in the mid '80s which made the record and video. Eddie thought, "how cool would it be to have her actually sing the line." The rest is rock history! RIP Eddie and Ronnie...
