Rest in the Self. The Self is pure consciousness without form, shape, attribute or qualities. That’s why is bliss itself. Pure consciousness not veiled by thoughts, is the Absolute Reality. God Himself. That’s why meditation is fundamental. And self inquiry as Ramana Maharshi told about. The kingdom of God is pure consciousness and God Himself. And God is Bliss and Peace.

I had the same experiences of becoming nothing over the past forty years as John, quietly and inwardly by myself. Never found a mentor, guide or teacher, just had a psychological background, but by 2010 or 11 I'd learned I'd been growing spiritually, since 1980 when I had a huge overnight shift in how I saw my self and the world. It was Grace that brought me all the way Home and I hadn't even known She was my everlasting guide, until I was Home. I'm in my eighties now but if I ever could finish my memoir it would be worth an interview by ConsciousTV. I am in the US though and don't know how to contact them. I did self publish my non-dual poems on Amazon which my FB friend in the UK, Peter Baker encouraged me to do, for which I am grateful. John is the Butler, Peter is the Baker and I was born the Butcher, all from the UK ancestrally. Just no candle stick maker in the mix.

The mind can’t decide to be a saint. You can’t decide to just not sin. There is no willing yourself into being worthy of god’s love. There is only a process of surrendering as god asks. The pressure of failure will slow the work that god has started. All that you can do is sit with who you are today. We are all doing this work with our sins and mistakes. All the change that you feel you need comes only by opening your heart to how beautiful god is. It feels humbling and at times shameful. By just being in gods proximity is the only way to change. It’s not our work it is god’s spirit that makes the change. Just show up, ugly sin and all your mistakes. If you feel shame that’s not god if you feel humbled and sorry you are doing it right.

He reminds me so much of that new-ager Echart Tolle, whom I used to listen to a lot and started reading his books 20 something years ago, before I became a follower of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. I went to Jesus for help when I hit rock bottom, and he’s done more for me in an instant, than 20 years of reading Tolle’s books, several others, mystical meditation, doing ayahuasca several times, iboga 1 time, getting reiki healing, going to clairvoyants, and a whole lot of other nonsense, which was a lot of money over the years… Lol I thought I was super spiritual and enlighted for years 😂 Dear brethren in Christ, please be careful and use discernment 🙏🕊️ From the 13:10 mark, John says: ‘this is actually what we are… the primal I AM…’ That is very misleading, because we are creations of God, but there is one being created by God who rebelled against him, who said: Isaiah 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. And God says, in Isaiah 46:9 - Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, The Holy Bible, that is the word of God, does not advocate being empty in your mind while meditating, doing that is a very eastern thing, on the contrary a real born again christian should meditate on the word of God. Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; And in his law doth he meditate day and night. 2 Timothy 2:16 - But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

We gotta work on that feedback buzz KZfaq team! It's really hard to listen to join with that background buzz. Many asmr enjoyers have misophonia and that buzz is unbearable. Much love to John though!

@@SpiritualUnfoldment I believe they were referring to the literal buzzing sound happening in the background of the recording itself, not the background noise in the cafe…. I agree with them, there is a constant buzzing possibly coming from the recorder that was used. I suggest connecting the wireless receiver into a Zoom F3 or a Sound Devices Mix Pre 3 when recording on location, they both have extremely low self noise. It’s definitely possible to increase the audio quality of these amazing cafe videos :) Much love to John ❤
